On Day 3 of REDLAND 2026, I arrived at the Fate Trigger (Fate Trigger) booth, finally fulfilling my dream of bringing Mindy (Mindy cosplay) to life—a character I've longed to cosplay for so long. Pre-production began a full week before the expo. While the costume looks light and agile at first glance, it is actually packed with intricate craftsmanship. Starting with the head styling: the wig features multi-tone spliced hues; to achieve seamless color transitions, I spent hours trimming and setting the locks. The animal ears and tactical goggles atop the crown were also carefully adjusted in angle to ensure optimal specular reflections under the booth spotlights. For cosmetics, I explored an anime-inspired approach, particularly around the eyes: to complement the azure contact lenses, I emphasized the aegyosal and layered eyeshadow gradients to give the gaze bright, dynamic focus.

The upper body's yellow-and-white spliced camisole paired with the light-grey ruched bandeau fit like a glove. The black shoulder straps and silver metallic buckles served as crowning accents, injecting mechanical, hardcore flair into the silhouette. The most demanding part was the waist harness: the orange utility belt featured meticulously detailed metal rings and dials, though the mounted mechanical gear carried noticeable weight—a burden entirely worth bearing for the final visual presence. The fingerless tactical gloves and forearm straps were loaded with detail, instantly channeling the character's agile, capable efficiency upon slipping them on.

Shooting around the booth was an absolute delight thanks to the incredible ambiance. Giant transparent bubbles and a pink mosaic wall framed under bright, high-key lighting created a whimsical juxtaposition between hardcore tactical gear and sweet pastels, giving every frame captivating dramatic tension. When posing on stage—especially during crossed-arm stances or silhouettes accentuating the waistline—I tuned my posture tension to contrast soft garment drape against rigid hardware, while keeping mounted props positioned accurately to project a seasoned combat demeanor. Over these past few days at the booth, I met countless passionate Fate Trigger (Fate Trigger) fans, chatting in-depth about the costume's tailoring and prop crafting—which felt truly rewarding. Running non-stop across expo days is physically exhausting, but hearing everyone's enthusiastic feedback and seeing their faces light up upon recognizing Mindy made all the fatigue vanish into thin air. Bringing Mindy to life was a thoroughly joyful and rewarding challenge from makeup test to live presentation, and I can't wait to see everyone again with brand-new styling next time!
