[NieR:Automata collaboration] Cool White Hair and a Dreamy Flower Sea: A Serene Moment - Image 1

For this shoot, we selected the NieR:Automata collaboration theme as our styling reference, with the core concept focusing on showcasing the serene interaction between cool white hair and a blue-and-white sea of flowers within a cool-toned atmosphere. The entire photo set attempts to seamlessly blend languid elegance with ACGN aesthetics.

The short white wig was chosen in smooth high-temperature synthetic fiber, requiring a natural curvature during everyday care. Once worn, the volume at the crown was calibrated just right; parting it slightly down the middle to reveal the forehead and blue eyes instantly captured the character's aloof demeanor. The makeup was restrained: grayish-blue eyeshadow smudged the eye sockets to elongate the eye shape, with well-defined eyelashes and a matte nude lip to preserve the skin's natural radiance without letting bright colors overpower the cool-toned palette.

This monochrome color-blocked mini-dress is full of design flair. The black lace and white ruffled collar on the upper half serve as the visual center, fitting the body neatly without feeling overly tight, while the pleated tailoring of the puff sleeves makes the arms appear slender. The waist cut elevates the waistline beautifully. Long gloves and white over-the-knee boots in a white hair white boots cosplay and white thigh-highs outfit style are the true soul of the look—the gloves hug the contours of the hands cleanly without looking bulky, while the boots offer comfortable interior lining and high heels that elongate the leg lines when standing. The black buckle straps at the boot cuffs add visual layering, breaking the monotony of single-toned footwear with an ideal shaft width that avoids awkward wrinkling.

For the set, we selected a European retro upholstered sofa whose classical fabric and carved wooden frame naturally evoke an elegant sense of suspended time. Laying out the blue silk flowers and faux grass around the sofa was a massive undertaking, extending from the armrests and cushions all the way down to the floor carpet. Varying shades of cyan and blue blossoms were arranged in staggered harmony—some in bud, some in full bloom—resembling a tranquil garden frozen by enchantment. This environment wrapped in sweeping cool tones is ideal for highlighting the character's solitary and dreamy aura in this retro flower sea studio photography session. Inside the narrow studio, the photographer set the camera position very high, checking the frame edges on every shot to ensure no staging elements were exposed, such as cables beneath the sofa or clutter peeking through gaps in the flowers.

The camera angle was chosen as a high-angle overhead shot from diagonally above. This not only fully encapsulated the blue flower sea on the floor, but also leveraged the diagonal composition of the sofa to extend the visual length of the lower body. Lighting utilized overhead lights paired with soft diffusion cloth for even distribution, highlighting specular reflection points on the white hair and white boots while rendering facial contours softly full and skin silky smooth.

In post-processing, the overall color tone was graded toward ice blue with a subtly cold white balance, increasing blue saturation while lowering brightness to give all floral materials a soft, unified cool-toned atmosphere. The contrast between black garments and fair skin looked crisper under cool tones, harmonizing comfortably with the artificial flower sea.

Throughout the shoot, we experimented with multiple poses—leaning, crossing arms, letting legs dangle or cross naturally. Ultimately, we settled on this semi-reclined pose on the sofa with arms resting gently in front and legs stretched naturally forward. The relaxed posture and level gaze perfectly conveyed that undisturbed, peaceful emotion. Interacting with the blossoms kept the composition lively, as if genuinely dwelling in this serene, slightly solitary world. The synergy across costumes, makeup, props, and lighting went smoothly, making this a truly delightful and comfortable creative experience.
