Recently, I focused on visiting several recommended cosplay outdoor locations for Shenzhen cosplay and put together my honest experiences and pitfall guides all at once, hoping to provide a helpful reference for cosers who frequently take photos in Shenzhen.

First, let's talk about Yuanboyuan (International Garden and Flower Expo Park). It is perfect for traditional Chinese gardens or national style cosplay. However, you must pay extreme attention: the mosquitoes there are incredibly fierce. When going there to shoot, make sure to bring mosquito repellent and anti-itch ointment; otherwise, it will be painful to end up covered in bites. This location makes it very easy to compose great shots—archways and corridors serve as excellent natural picture frames, making it ideal for photos with a rich sense of depth, serving as a great photography angle guide.

Next is the Qingshuihe Railway Park. This spot has a strong abandoned industrial vibe, where tracks and green train carriages serve as a background that easily creates an atmospheric feel. But I must give you a piece of advice: absolutely do not go on weekends or holidays. The crowd size is terrifying, with tourists completely filling the tracks, making it impossible to clear the scene for a clean shot. It's highly recommended to go early in the morning on weekdays when the light is also much softer.

The stream and rock scenery at Baiwang Leisure Fishing Ground looks incredibly natural, exuding a fresh forest vibe. However, the rocks in that stream are covered in moss and are extremely slippery. You must be very careful when stepping, as it's easy to slip and fall. I suggest bringing a pair of non-slip outdoor shoes or preparing a towel to wipe your feet. You can basically find the place by following the GPS navigation, but the surrounding area is quite desolate, so remember to bring plenty of water and supplies.

I highly recommend the Rose Coast as a seascape outdoor location; the overall photo success rate is extremely high among various Shenzhen photo spots. You need to purchase a ticket to enter, but thanks to this entry fee barrier, the crowd inside is relatively small, so you won't have random strangers wandering into your background on the beach. However, keep in mind that you must check the weather forecast beforehand. When the sun is out, the ocean scenery is beautifully blue; if it's cloudy, the gray and gloomy sea completely ruins that summer vibe. I recommend heading there in the afternoon to capture the sunset, as the light is particularly stunning.

Lastly, I want to add a location to avoid, which is the residential community right next to Shenzhen K11. The GPS location is incredibly vague, and I had to wander around for a long time just to find it. It mostly features children's slide facilities, and even on weekdays, there are many kids playing there, occupying almost every potential photography angle guide spot, which significantly disrupts the shoot. Personally, I don't recommend this location; if you really want to go, you must wait until late at night or until the kids go home, but then the lighting conditions become quite poor.

Sorting through everything, there are actually quite a few good Shenzhen photo spots to shoot cosplay; the key is to thoroughly grasp the scouting information. If everyone plans to shoot refreshing summer or traditional national style sets this season, you can plan to include these locations.
