[EVA-Beatrice cosplay] Umineko: When They Cry Group Photo Shoot Record - Image 1

Today, the group photo shoot for Umineko: When They Cry was finally arranged, and it was really lively with everyone getting together. The character I cosplayed this time is EVA-Beatrice. To accurately restore this character, I did a lot of homework on makeup and styling beforehand. I spent a long time picking out the orange wig, trying to choose a material that is less reflective and has smoother hair strands, trimmed it with blunt bangs, and set it so that it wouldn't get messy easily during large movements. To fit the character, I deliberately chose bright blue contact lenses, paired with a slightly heavier red-toned eyeshadow and eyeliner, which looks better on camera and brings out the character's unique temperament.
In terms of clothing, this purple dress has a lot of details. The white lace ruffles and black lace splicing on the chest required me to repeatedly adjust the inner lining's support structure during fitting to present a three-dimensional feel. The black lace bow tie at the neck, paired with a red gemstone pendant, is the finishing touch of the entire upper body. The skirt hem on the lower body also features red and black borders, creating a strong sense of layering when walking. Paired with long black gloves on the hands, it not only flatters the arm lines but also fits the character's overall setting. During the shoot, holding that golden long rod prop and making specific gestures instantly brought the vibe alive. Regarding the prop, the golden long rod in my hand has a wooden primer and was colored by myself, giving it a solid weight in hand, which also required me to make better use of arm strength to support myself when posing so that the posture wouldn't look stiff.
During this group photo shoot, there was also a companion cosplaying Eva Ushiromiya on site. Everyone rehearsed scenes and exchanged action tips together, creating a wonderful atmosphere. We shot in a vintage-style indoor setting, where the wooden wainscoting and leather armchairs matched the core tone of the work itself. During the shoot, I paid attention to finding the lens, such as trying a single-eyed wink or spreading my fingers to strike a pose, making the photos both vivid and slightly alluring. In terms of expression management, the character EVA-Beatrice possesses a complex charm, so I tried a blinking expression that carries a playful yet slightly dangerous vibe, combined with a focused gaze, hoping to express that sense of layering a bit.
Exchanging makeup insights and wig-styling tips with fellow fans was truly rewarding. Even though everyone cosplayed different characters, sitting together to eat boxed lunches, touch up makeup, and help each other tidy up the skirt ruffles—this atmosphere is the greatest joy of a group photo shoot. As someone who frequently cosplays, I suggest that when preparing dresses with lots of lace and pleates, everyone must pay attention to the smoothness of the clothes, treating them with a garment steamer before the shoot to save a lot of trouble in post-processing. I've always cared about the texture of the clothing; the purple fabric has different reflections under lights, so I communicated lighting angles with the photographer during the shoot to avoid the clothing texture being washed out by the lights. I hope this set of photos can well record everyone's hard work and dedication today.
