At ChinaJoy this time, I finally got to experience cosplaying Zoe (Zoe cosplay) right at the Palworld (Palworld) booth. Although typhoon weather disrupted our initial meetup plans and kept me from meeting Huobao Lajiao smoothly on day one, we thankfully managed to link up on day two—making up for the missed moments and snapping heaps of satisfying shots.
To achieve true character fidelity, meticulous care went into selecting fabrics for this Zoe costume. The black-and-pink paneled jacket required a leather-like textile with a subtle sheen to capture that rebellious, dark aesthetic from the game. The flared pink cuffs heavily tested patterning, needing to hold an organic bell shape without appearing bulky. The cat-eared beanie was an absolute highlight; paired with the two-tone wig—black in front and pink in back—it established unmistakable character recognition in an instant.
For makeup, crimson contact lenses were indispensable; the eyeshadow was blended with deeper red tones along the outer corners to evoke a slightly tipsy, subtly dangerous aura. My nails were painted glossy black with sharp elongated extensions, adding aggressive bite to dynamic poses. Of course, the most prominent detail was the yellow Pal charm at my waist; though it looks soft and fluffy, hanging from the belt added noticeable weight, requiring conscious balance while posing so it wouldn't pull the waist sashes askew.
Lighting across the convention booth was quite complex; black fabrics easily caught harsh specular reflections, demanding constant angle micro-adjustments to dodge awkward hot spots. The anime-style backdrop on site matched the game's art direction seamlessly, lending fantastic depth to raw takes right out of the camera. To suit the character's aesthetic, the cropped styling leaves ample midriff exposed, so I strictly managed my diet before the event—thankfully, my waistline looked sleek and clean in the final edits.
Even though I only wore Zoe for a single day, hearing fellow players recognize the character while walking the exhibition halls brought immense joy. The energy around the booth was incredible, with everyone enthusiastically trading in-game banter and numerous convention-goers coming over for photos. Wearing a cropped jacket with a mini skirt kept me cool navigating the humid venue, though concerns about wardrobe slips kept my movements relatively restrained.
Missing out on meeting certain friends due to the typhoon disruptions was undeniably a bummer. Hopefully next time we'll be blessed with clear skies so we can celebrate together without rushing, letting me capture more varied angles and showcase every inch of this hard-earned cosplay build. Regarding accessories, the belt buckle and skirt trim details were meticulously referenced against in-game 3D models piece by piece; seeing the final impact made every hour spent thoroughly worthwhile. Next time we meet, we're definitely shooting plenty more photos to our hearts' content!
