On the first day of the TapTap Game Festival, I was assigned to cosplay Chang Xiao'e at the Honor of Kings Chess (Honor of Kings Chess) booth. Styling this character was quite a challenge, especially the two buns atop the crown, which required a generous amount of hair gel and setting spray to maintain their form. The silver-lavender wig paired with yellow-and-blue feather hairpieces exhibited vivid dimensional layering under the booth lights. To match the character's disposition, I specifically wore red contact lenses blended with reddish-pink eyeshadow, dotting the signature small white dots beneath my eyes to draw focused visual attention during close-ups.

For the wardrobe, the white sleeveless high-neck top featured an asymmetrical cut that creased easily with movement on site. Consequently, I maintained an elongated posture while standing to minimize unnecessary tugging. The flared bell sleeves were detached and slightly sheer; during photos, I leveraged gentle arm movements to let them drape naturally, adding fluid dynamic grace. The purple miniskirt contrasted boldly against the white top, while the long necklace adorned with a blue gemstone pendant served as a crucial detail that had to be aligned precisely at the center.

The prop rabbit—with pure white fur, crimson eyes, and a blue bowknot—was a lifelike asset. Extended standing on the booth floor easily induces fatigue, yet cradling the plush rabbit in my arms or lifting it overhead for the final sequence not only enriched the compositional balance but helped me appear animated and relaxed before the lens. Many think cosplay is merely slipping into garments and striking poses; in truth, preserving relaxed facial expressions and natural body language requires continuous calibration. Amidst dense crowds, I introduced playful winks or clasped my hands behind my back while tilting forward slightly, which accentuated leg lines without looking stiff.

Ambient illumination across the exhibition hall was multifaceted, combining front-facing booth spotlights with vertical white light bars on the flanks. During takes, I consciously utilized these light sources to sculpt facial contours and eliminate unflattering shadows. With the backdrop wall lined with typography and jumping graphic characters, I kept centered within the frame to avoid being overpowered by background clutter. Despite standees appearing in the foreground or background, adjusting camera angles kept visual weight anchored entirely on the subject.

Stamina management during convention hours was a notable challenge. Because the top was sleeveless, the venue's aggressive air conditioning felt rather chilly over long periods, prompting me to keep an outerwear jacket nearby to drape over my shoulders during breaks. To keep the wig voluminous, I brushed the ends periodically to prevent static cling and friction from crowd jostling. Regarding makeup, wearing red lenses for hours dried out the eyes, so I carried lubricating eye drops to refresh my gaze between takes. Under intense lighting, I relied on oil-control, long-wearing base makeup to prevent shine, patting my T-zone with blotting sheets every few hours before dusting on loose powder. In posing choreography, beyond standard cradling stances, I perched the bunny atop my head or shifted my weight onto one leg to elongate leg proportions while keeping the upper body relaxed.

Maintaining character immersion while interacting with visitors was equally crucial. Stationed as a resident booth cosplayer, I transitioned seamlessly between posing for lenses and greeting attendees. Whenever someone approached for photos, I aligned with their camera angle in optimal form. The rabbit served as a charming bridge for interaction, drawing children and attendees who paused to admire it, allowing me to respond with gentle head tilts and cute expressions. In terms of physical endurance, while the high heels were flattering, prolonged standing strained the soles, so I mobilized my ankles during lulls or leaned gently against the backdrop while keeping my shoulders back to prevent slouching. Every booth appearance is a discipline: from physical stamina to expression control, continuous polishing through live experience elevates cosplay professionalism. Refining small nuances—such as fingertip grip on the bunny's ears or the direction of my gaze—ensured the final captures turned out remarkably captivating.
