Argentina's match is over, and my heart feels a bit empty. The cruelty of a penalty shootout is fully displayed in the football world. But since I'm part of the World Cup virtual cheer squad, even though the home team regretfully left the field, the summer belonging to football must go on. I might as well release this set of anime soccer themed photos that has been kept for a long time, and put a period to this carnival season in my own way.
Shooting this set of Soccer girl cosplay photos has actually been planned for a long time. I've always wanted to do something closely related to the World Cup, while integrating the anime style I excel at. Therefore, this outfit is not a traditional fan cheering uniform, but a short T-shirt and pleated skirt combining sailor uniform and athletic elements. The blue-and-white color scheme matches this World Cup theme perfectly, and the "Football" print on the clothes as well as the small chest badge details are very well done. The T-shirt has a waist-cinching short design, which just reveals the waistline, paired with a high-waisted pleated skirt, visually lengthening the overall body proportions.
To reflect the sporty feel, I chose a brightly colored soccer ball as a prop. The ball has rich geometric patterns, forming a great contrast with the relatively plain clothes. In addition, white socks are the soul of this styling. I specially matched it with white long tube socks printed with "Arsenal". I know many enthusiasts with a white sock fetish have requirements for the texture of white socks, so during shooting, I paid special attention to the display of leg lines. For example, using a wooden-framed mirror as the foreground, or lying on the bed with calves raised, can focus the view on the leg lines. In terms of physical movements, I added some stretching, ball-holding, and tiptoeing actions, which can both show body flexibility and create a sense of vitality ready to play sports at any time. Paired with simple brown short hair and everyday makeup, without deliberately drawing exaggerated eyeshadow, it aims for a clear and realistic look.
Shooting this kind of Sporty style photoshoot work is physically draining. Many movements look easy, but to maintain muscle tension and natural expressions, one often needs to hold a pose for a long time. For example, the action of lifting one leg while leaning against a mirror requires core strength to balance, and the hand holding the soccer ball must also be careful not to block the logo and pattern on the clothes. In terms of scene selection, we utilized indoor wooden-framed mirrors, retro refrigerators, washing machine backgrounds, even beds and sofas, wanting to present a contrast through this homey yet slightly lazy atmosphere—though wearing sportswear, it can also be a very comfortable daily state. Especially some reflection compositions in front of the mirror not only increase the layering of the picture, but also let me better check my posture.
The World Cup always touches people's hearts. Whether true fans or part of the World Cup virtual cheer squad like me who participates in an anime way, everyone is expressing their love for football in their own way. This set of photos counts as a small commemoration of this World Cup for me. I hope friends who like football or fashion can feel this vitality. Although this outfit is not a specific anime character, it is also my own attempt at an anime sporty style.
