Today at the Jinling anime convention site, my partner and I did a Kagamine Rin/Len Cosplay. This time the preparation was quite thorough, from wig trimming and styling to the restoration of various details on the clothing, a lot of thought went into it. When entering the venue in the morning, there were already many people, so we found a relatively empty corner to tidy up our styling first. For those iconic hair clips at the front of the wig, I deliberately used a slightly harder material so that they wouldn't collapse easily on the bangs and could better restore the original design settings. The contact lenses were chosen as a relatively translucent sky blue color, paired with eye makeup, and the effect under the lighting at the exhibition site was quite clear. The collar of the clothing and the musical note decoration on the chest were key points; to make the collar look crisp, we added thin lining inside. Not long after walking around the exhibition hall, many children ran over to take photos. The children's enthusiasm really exceeded expectations; seeing the golden hair and rabbit ear headbands, they would all run over excitedly. When taking photos, some children would even imitate our "V" gestures. Among them, a little girl was especially cute, pointing at the musical notes on our chests and asking if we were playing the piano. I explained it to her, and she was very happy to high-five with me. Because there were too many times squatting down to cooperate with the children taking photos, my legs felt a bit sore, but seeing their happy expressions made it feel completely worth it. Besides interacting with the children, the happiest thing was receiving many ACGN freebies. The items displayed on the table in picture 2 are the harvest of this Jinling anime convention. Most of the merchandise was one set per person for me and my partner, because many were specially prepared by fellow fans. There were many exquisitely drawn postcards, acrylic stands, badges, and beaded bracelets, as well as a handwritten award certificate. Those two award certificates had so much heart put into them that I was a bit shy to take them out for photos, feeling like I was being praised too grandly. The process of exchanging ACGN freebies is also a process of meeting new friends; although everyone was in different exhibition areas, gathering together because of this character, chatting about clothing materials and makeup ideas, the atmosphere was exceptionally good. In terms of makeup and styling, this time I tried making the eye makeup slightly sharper and lengthening the eyeliner, which could get closer to the character's feel. The base makeup is prone to getting oily under the strong light of the anime convention, so setting powder was used quite a bit. The wig got a bit frizzy in the afternoon, so I carried care solution and a comb with me to tidy it up in time. Although walking around the exhibition hall in this outfit was very tiring, especially since the shoes weren't very suitable for standing long hours, the overall photo output effect and on-site atmosphere made me feel that this hardship didn't go to waste. In the afternoon, I also went outside the venue to shoot a few outdoor photos; under natural light, the golden hair and the yellow stripes on the clothing were extremely eye-catching. When packing up things ready to leave, my body was already very exhausted, but opening the phone to look at today's photos taken with everyone, and then sorting out the ACGN freebies on the table, I felt this day was extremely fulfilling. Offline ACGN events are always like this—although tiring, being able to meet so many people who like the same work makes everything very meaningful. I hope next time there is still a chance to participate with better makeup and styling.
