The European-style architecture of the Beijing Exhibition Center served as the perfect backdrop for this outdoor shoot—the green hair and deep navy high-slit gown looked especially striking under the warm golden sunset. Catching C.C. at the IDO Comic Con for an outdoor session went incredibly smoothly. To capture her trademark aloofness and air of mystery, we put a lot of thought into styling and makeup. The long, straight green wig had plenty of volume, which paired with the golden diamond headpiece and tassels to create a graceful, flowing motion while walking. For makeup, we deepened the eye contours and paired them with reddish-brown lips to reflect an aloof detachment from the world.

The dress details were another highlight of the shoot. The navy halter-neck backless design with gold trim and delicate straps demands a well-toned silhouette. To refine my posture, I stretched my shoulders, neck, and back before shooting so the arch of my back appeared more natural on camera. The navy arm sleeves with cut-out geometric gold patterns added wonderful visual depth whenever I raised my arms. The high-slit design gave the poses exceptional expressiveness—with such a dramatic slit, standing or moving caught the leg lines perfectly. To avoid any wardrobe malfunctions, rigorous safety measures were taken underneath, allowing me to strike dynamic poses with total peace of mind.

In this setting, I loved using the iconic clock tower and stone pillars of the exhibition center as backdrops. Leaning against a carved stone pillar with side-backlight tracing the edges of my hair while looking straight into the lens instantly brought out that cool, languid gaze. For standing poses, raising and crossing my arms overhead while using the gown's drape with my weight shifted slightly back elongated the visual proportions. To enhance the storytelling, I brought along a golden rose prop; holding it lightly between my lips from a high angle added dramatic tension to the frame.

Outdoor natural light changes fast, so we wrapped up this set during the golden hour just before sunset. The evening sun cast over the pale stone pillars and architecture not only warmed up the scene's color temperature, but also brought out the luxurious richness of the navy fabric. The joy of outdoor convention shoots lies in capturing the natural sparks that fly when character and setting meet in an unpredictable environment. It takes both physical stamina and great chemistry with the photographer. Shooting under the clock tower with passersby around made timing shots in empty gaps an essential skill. While the trailing hem made moving around tricky, the stunning final shots made rushing across the plaza entirely worthwhile.
