From taking on the project to the final deliverables, most of the effort was dedicated to wig styling and prop crafting. For the wig, I selected a base in a greenish-cyan hue, trimmed straight blunt bangs, and braided a thick plait on the right side. To give the hair more layers, the edges were thinned out to add a touch of fluffiness. The elf ears were custom-made from soft silicone for a seamless fit. Paired with reddish-brown colored contact lenses and a slightly innocent eye makeup look, the facial expression basically captured the character's temperament. The bright green halo atop the head was handcrafted using acrylic sheeting and fine wire, sprayed with a matte finish to prevent harsh reflections under bright night lights, and the sharp corners were rounded to ensure both safety and aesthetic quality during outdoor shooting.
For the costume coordination, I chose a light blue short-sleeved ruffled dress with a small bow at the neckline, paired with an off-white chunky knit fringed shawl. The large off-white fabric flower on the shoulder was specially sewn to enrich the detail. On the lower body were light blue leggings; to accentuate the character's leg line, sitting postures were intentionally adjusted during the shoot. As for footwear, the yellow-and-blue slippers are quite distinctive—though they don't look like conventional combat gear, they perfectly fit this casual street-style setting. The white square adhesive bandage placed on the outer thigh was another subtle detail that added a touch of vulnerability to the character.
The shooting location was chosen near a nighttime underpass. The rough asphalt pavement, distant traffic cones, and cool-toned metallic mesh fencing created a background rich in urban street atmosphere. To create a striking contrast with the light-colored outfit, we conducted numerous lighting tests. As for props, the light green translucent paper pinwheel and glossy green plastic apple served as essential accents. Moving around with the pinwheel during the shoot easily caused creasing, so the angle had to be adjusted very carefully before each still frame. The glossy surface of the green apple caught the streetlights nicely, creating crisp highlights that complemented the green hair.
The entire photo set aims to convey Nozomi's quiet yet lively presence, occasionally revealing a hint of playfulness. From the initial makeup test to the actual night shoot, I maintained continuous communication with the photographer regarding framing, composition, and emotional nuance. Because it was an outdoor night shoot, we deployed multiple flash setups to balance the subject's facial exposure with the ambient background mood. While an outdoor shoot lacks the controlled stability of a studio, its natural texture and depth are irreplaceable. 衣装については、襟元に小さなリボンを結んだ水色の半袖フリルワンピースを選び、生成りのざっくり編みフリンジショールを合わせました。肩に配した大きなオフホワイトの布製フラワーは手縫いで仕上げ、ディテールの密度を高めています。ボトムスには水色のレギンスを合わせ、脚のラインを綺麗に見せるためポージングも工夫しました。足元の黄色と青のツートンカラーのスリッパは非常に特徴的で、一般的な戦闘装備には見えないものの、この日常感のあるストリート設定にとてもよく馴染んでいます。太ももの外側に貼った白い四角い絆創膏も、儚げな雰囲気を添えるこだわりの小さなアクセントです。
撮影場所には夜間の高架下付近を選びました。荒いアスファルトの路面、遠くの三角コーン、そして寒色系の金網フェンスが、都会的なストリート感を色濃く醸し出しています。淡いトーンの衣装と背景を際立たせるため、ライティングのテストも入念に行いました。小道具では、薄緑色の半透明な紙風車と鮮やかなグリーンのプラスチック製青リンゴが良いアクセントになっています。風車を持って歩き回るとシワが寄りやすいため、シャッターを切るたびに慎重に角度を微調整しました。青リンゴの艶やかな表面は街灯の下で綺麗なハイライトを生み出し、緑の髪色と美しく響き合っています。
今回の写真集全体を通して表現したかったのは、ノゾミの持つ静けさの中にある瑞々しい躍動感と、ふとした瞬間に覗くいたずらっぽい表情です。最初のメイクテストから夜の現場撮影まで、構図や感情の表現についてカメラマンと終始意見を交わしながら進めました。夜間撮影だったため、人物の顔の露出と背景の環境光のバランスを取るべく複数のストロボを組み合わせています。ロケ撮影はスタジオほど安定した環境ではありませんが、リアルな空気感や質感は何物にも代えがたい魅力があります。実景の中でキャラクターを生き生きと再現できたことは自分にとって非常に手応えのあるビジュアル表現となりました。この作品を通じて、コスプレならではの没入感を皆さんに感じていただけたら嬉しいです。
