[Neon Genesis Evangelion Cosplay] A Solitary Qixi Night in Tokyo-3

As night fell, I stood at the edge of a high-rise building, capturing the glowing light trails of the city. This outfit looks commanding, but putting it on and taking it off is quite a hassle—especially that glossy red leather jacket, which is non-breathable and prone to creasing, so I had to take extra care of it the entire time. I intentionally chose the evening for this urban night photoshoot to create a warm-and-cool contrast against the scattered office building lights behind me. The long purple wig was freshly styled tonight: I used a curling iron at the roots for volume and kept the bangs slightly long so that when the wind blew, a few strands would fall across my eyes, creating an effortless, casual vibe. To complement the overall cool tone, I kept the base makeup clean, drew elongated eyeliner, and paired it with a classic red lip, making my facial features stand out sharply under the flash.

The photographer guided me through numerous look-back poses, which made my neck quite sore. I held the prop cigarette between my fingers the whole time; the evening breeze was strong, and holding it for so long inevitably made my fingertips shake. Fortunately, the city night view offered plenty of blue, yellow, and red lights, which created an unexpectedly striking color contrast with the purple hair cosplay and red outfit. Midway through the shoot, a thin layer of sweat had formed, and the wig had gotten a bit messy in the wind. I was indeed spending Qixi night all by myself; watching the passing crowds and lights, I felt as if I were standing on the streets of Tokyo-3. But dressed in this Neon Genesis Evangelion cosplay, this adult solitude felt full of ritual. Posing coolly by the railing and glancing back, all I was actually thinking was wrapping up quickly so I could go home, take off my makeup, and have a late-night snack. Putting aside all the complex lore, simply enjoying this night filled with wind, city lights, and my own little passion served as a special keepsake for the festival.
