[Early autumn outfit cosplay] Illustration Recreation Cosplay: The Blue Electric Guitar in My Hands

The inspiration for this Early autumn outfit cosplay came from the Guitar girl illustration drawn by artist Shiliu. I specifically combined elements from the original artwork for a real-life Illustration recreation cosplay. To be honest, when I first put it on, I felt a bit hesitant inside because clothing cuts in illustrations are often tailored to ideal visual proportions, whereas in reality, wearing this outfit felt a bit less flattering than in the drawing. So when posting, I couldn't help sighing, 'This outfit really doesn't suit me.' But since I put it on, I still wanted to document it properly.

Looking at the light blue ribbed long-sleeve top first, this fitted cropped top is actually perfect for early autumn temperatures. The ribbed texture looks rich in layers under the camera lens, and the slightly loose neckline exposes the neck line nicely to look visually slimming. For the bottom, I paired it with a haze gray slim-fit long skirt. The color transition is quiet and calm, looking very refreshing against a cool white wall. The main color palette of this outfit is blue and gray, inherently carrying a cool, clean temperament. Slinging that blue-green electric guitar over my back creates a subtle color harmony, instantly boosting the overall cool vibe in this Electric guitar outfit.

When setting up the background, I deliberately maintained a minimalist style at home—a white plush rug, wooden geometric wall ornaments, and a bundle of dried reed flowers beside me constructed a very quiet and healing indoor ambiance. During shooting, to stay as close as possible to the original illustration's lazy, languid feel, I tried various poses, such as holding the guitar sitting on the rug or standing with the instrument in front of a full-length mirror. Real-life shooting differs vastly from illustrations—flowing hair and flawless lighting in drawings are hard to replicate entirely, so in my mirror selfies, I focused more on expressing a casual, natural state rather than forcing stiff poses, which actually helped me find a sense of belonging.

Although I kept complaining that this outfit was too tight-fitting for daily wear, as a style experiment, it brought me a great sense of freshness. Usually when doing cosplay, I might choose exaggerated costumes, so challenging this life-like, fresh early autumn look is something I rarely do. Being able to bring my favorite artist's work into reality this time was a deeply fun experience regardless of satisfaction. Once holding the guitar, many gestures came naturally, like plucking strings or looking down at the guitar body; such body language kept the overall composition from looking stiff. Early autumn's gentle chill meshes smoothly with this blue-gray color scheme, giving me the illusion of hosting a small private concert right in my own room.

In short, although for daily clothes I'd still choose looser, more comfortable styles, this Illustration recreation cosplay attempt allowed me to see a different side of myself in front of the lens, serving as a successful step out of my comfort zone for this Daily cosplay sharing.
