[Black Swan cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: The Dahlia cosplay Duo cosplay Shoot Sharing

For this Black Swan cosplay duo photoshoot in Honkai: Star Rail, the greatest dedication went into costume accuracy and lighting. Black Swan's costume is tailored closely to the body, especially the neckline and arm strap details, which required precise angle adjustments to prevent any wardrobe slips or showing structural seams. The white puff sleeves and purple flowing cape create a striking color contrast; to ensure the fabrics didn't form unwanted folds while moving, we adjusted our standing postures in the studio numerous times. For makeup, I opted for cool tones, paired with a pearl necklace and long grayish-white lashes, striving to match the aloof, cool elegance of the canon design.

My partner Mint Blue portrayed The Dahlia cosplay with even more elaborate costume details, sporting an exquisite purple-gradient long wig and butterfly ornaments across the outfit. Because The Dahlia was seated, we had to repeatedly confirm our intersecting eyelines to ensure the composition looked natural. Matte black Stockings were worn on the legs, paired with black-and-purple tall boots; under the dim purple ambient studio lights, the sheen and texture looked fantastic. During shooting, plenty of purple fill-light fixtures were deployed so the deep purple velvet sofa and mirror reflections blended seamlessly into the scene.

The most demanding prop was the ultraviolet butterfly, which required pre-testing the illumination intensity so the brightness was balanced precisely when the shutter clicked. To keep both of us centered in the frame, the photographer initially tried a wide-angle lens, but to avoid edge distortion, we switched to a medium-telephoto lens. For pose directing, I leaned partly against the sofa armrest while my partner sat on it; this one-standing, one-sitting pose highlighted the drape of our fabrics and contrasting silhouettes to perfection.

The shooting process went rather smoothly overall; although adjusting the gemstone brooch on the chest took time, this purple-and-black gown and corset were indeed the most demanding elements, as holding poses for extended durations drained considerable physical energy. Collaborating with Mint Blue this time showed great mutual chemistry; while faithfully recreating character hallmarks, we incorporated personal interpretations, such as an aloof gaze and a subtly forward-leaning stance. Styling Stockings and high heels within a room soaked in purple light created an atmospheric presence that was wonderfully moody, maximizing the aesthetic design advantages of these costumes. The shoot consumed nearly an entire day of constantly adjusting light angles, all to capture that dark, elegant temperament closest to the original work in Honkai: Star Rail. Though the process was arduous, seeing such high-quality visual results brought an immense sense of fulfillment as a cosplayer in this Duo cosplay project.
