[Rappa Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, Street Graffiti Under Neon Nightscape

This Rappa look has a strong street style in Honkai: Star Rail, so I specifically chose a city rooftop at night for this location shoot. The red short jacket, white crop top, and black shorts are the visual center of the entire outfit, with the contrast of red, black, and white providing good layering under night lighting. The red horns on the hat and black brim are supported by hard materials to maintain their shape in the night wind. The hair is a pink gradient wig with some teal at the ends, thick enough to create strong dynamic lines when the wind blows during shooting.

To highlight the character's casual and cool demeanor, I chose a squatting pose on the edge of a concrete parapet, body twisted to one side, with my left hand naturally extended outward. This pose required adjusting balance to maintain the shape while showcasing the dynamic flow of the hair and clothing. The white cylindrical prop bound to the outside of the thigh and the red and white leather straps at the waist are important dot elements in this outfit; I specially checked their stability before shooting to avoid tilting or awkward folding with the shorts in a squatting pose.

Regarding makeup, to match the character's temperament, I emphasized the contours of the eyes, with deep eyeshadow giving a sharp and confident gaze, while the lip color was adjusted to a natural 'eaten' style to avoid overpowering the facial features with the red and white clothing. The wind on the rooftop was very strong at night, blowing the wig, the hem of the jacket, and the red ribbons to one side. Although the wig occasionally blocked my view, the dynamic effect added vitality to the frame.

About photography, relatively large aperture was used to achieve background bokeh, transforming the lights of high-rise city buildings into rich circular光斑. The cool blue ambient light contrast with the red and white color blocks on the figure formed a contrast of cool and warm. Brighter-than-average off-camera flash was used for fill light in early shooting to guarantee that facial and clothing details remained clear in such a complex lighting environment on the rooftop, avoiding high noise or blurring.

The entire process of executing this look had clear goals; no overly fancy or exaggerated movements were made, basically repeatedly fine-tuning hand placement and leg angle on the positioned concrete wall. For safety, core muscles needed to be stabilized for every frame to prevent imbalance. This tough outfit paired with slightly tactical legs asymmetric design is intended to convey the image of an unfettered and mysterious city ranger character.

Another detail worth mentioning on the clothing is the black leather wrist guards and red half-finger gloves on the wrists. Although these details only occupy a small part of the frame, they add to the overall layering and richness in close-up shots. The connection between the pants and boots uses large areas of black and strap elements, maintaining visual consistency even when cropped to the legs. The shooting time was actually late at night, and the rooftop wind was stronger than imagined, greatly affecting hair and clothes during capturing. To improve the success rate of photos, I repeatedly adjusted standing positions and squatting poses to ensure the wig did not completely block the face. Fixing the props in the correct position required constant adjustment during shooting as well. Although the weather was a bit chilly, the physical reflections of the outfit paired with scene light sources ultimately presented quite a good texture, which is why夜间天台 (night roof) was chosen for shooting.
