The concept for this outdoor shoot mainly revolved around cyber and futuristic vibes. To present the best reflective effect in the night scene, the costume material was chosen to be a laser PVC fabric with a holographic gloss. This material might look a bit plain during the day, but once night falls, combined with the city's neon lights, it can refract very gorgeous ice-blue and pink-purple hues. However, this fabric is not very breathable and easily traps sweat when worn. Plus, since the shooting location was outdoors, I had to pay attention to my posture while moving to avoid unsightly hard creases in the clothes.

The huge white bow at the neckline was meant to neutralize the cold and rigid feel brought by the laser fabric, adding a bit of the character's energetic attribute. The spiral ribbons on the back are the soul of the entire styling and also the hardest part to handle during the shoot. LED lighting strips were embedded inside the ribbons; to ensure the light could evenly shine through on camera, the early wiring tests took a lot of time. During the shoot, I also had to constantly pay attention to the wind direction and the arc of the ribbons; if they tangled together, the frame would look very messy. To make the glowing ribbons look more dynamic, I tried my best to use a sideways look-back movement to drive them, which resulted in a much higher success rate for great photos.

In terms of makeup and styling, to fit the texture of a 2D anime paper-cut character, the base makeup was intentionally made quite fair and matte. The wig chosen was a silver-white blunt-bangs bob, with the hair ends treated with a pink-purple gradient, paired with high-saturation blue contact lenses. The eye makeup heavily emphasized deepening the lower eyelid and aegyo-sal, making the gaze look more innocent yet expressive. The shoes matched were block-heel Mary Janes of the same color family, and I specially added a small yellow heart-shaped decoration at the ankle strap, which is considered a little clever design touch.

The location was chosen as a plaza with high-rise neon lights. Nighttime portraits are a huge test for lighting; if only ambient light is used, a person's face easily becomes dark. This time, constant-light lamps were used for front fill light, while a large-aperture lens was used to blur the building lights in the background into bokeh, preserving the bustling city background without stealing the main visual focus. The high ISO sensitivity was controlled within a reasonable range to ensure skin texture while suppressing noise in the dark areas. During post-processing, the focus was mainly placed on enhancing the highlights and color contrast of the costume material, without over-smoothing the skin, preserving the real skin texture. I hope this set of final photos can bring some night shooting inspiration to everyone.
