This time I took on the challenge of Mai Xiaowen from Delta Force. To achieve high Character accuracy, I put a lot of effort into the choice of costume materials and refining the details. Mai Xiaowen's tactical outfit combines industrial feel with fashion. I specifically optimized the balance between leather texture and metallic feel, striving to present a realistic weightiness under the lens. For the shooting environment, I chose a visually impactful deep red as the main color, using strong side lighting projection to highlight the character's contour lines, especially the fur decorations on the shoulders, which have a strong sense of three-dimensionality under light and shadow.
During the shooting process, I focused more on how to convey the character's introverted yet fierce sense of power through micro-expressions and eyes. Under the theme of "hide and seek," the strength of each set of movements needed repeated adjustments to ensure the character's tactical literacy was retained in dynamic balance. At the same time, the wearing angle of the mask and the texture of the hair color were also debugged multiple times, aiming to restore the character's cold atmosphere in combat within a limited frame space. This Visual arts expression focuses on the interweaving of technological sense and power beauty, bringing the audience a highly tense aesthetic experience through the contrast of light and shadow. This ultimate pursuit of details is exactly to make cosplay not just about character outfits, but a deep restoration of the character's soul.
