This time, I challenged myself with Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail, spending a full two weeks on preparation from the test makeup to the actual shoot. What took the most effort regarding the costume was the pink, purple, and blue three-color gradient of the skirt hem, along with the hollowed-out patterns on the chest and that 3D blue rose; every layer of ruffles was shaped and set to guarantee a natural fluffy look on camera. The wig is a custom light pink gradient long straight hairstyle, and the butterfly-wing and flower hair accessories on top were reinforced with hot melt glue three times to prevent them from falling off during the shoot. For the makeup part, I intentionally emphasized the glitter under the eyes and expanded the blending area of the blush, paired with light purple colored contacts, attempting to bring out character accuracy with her ethereal yet slightly playful expression.
The shooting site used a large number of white Roman pillars and pink floral art as the background. The lighting was set very soft, allowing the pearlescent fabric of the costume to give off a faint, gentle glow. During composition, we deliberately selected several different perspectives—including a standing full-body shot to display the trailing skirt hem, a sitting close-up to highlight accessory details, and an interactive feel of reaching toward the camera, providing more choices during post-selection. Actually, this kind of lightweight fantasy style cosplay heavily tests the coordination of props; the vine straps on the wrists and the 3D flower branches on the legs were adjusted repeatedly before shooting to ensure they wouldn't leave marks. While organizing this set of photos, I realized that soft light truly elevates the overall atmosphere, making the already dreamy style color scheme look even more translucent. If I shoot this again next time, perhaps I could try capturing some slight dynamic movements to make the moment the skirt hem flutters feel more full of vitality for my next Cosplay photography session.
