When shooting the Promised Land outfit for Eyjafjalla from Arknights, the blinding sunlight made it almost impossible to keep my eyes open. The sun blazing overhead, combined with the light reflecting off the surrounding greenery, turned the whole setting into a giant oven. Because it was a clear day, the lighting was superb; however, due to prolonged direct exposure, taking off my jacket revealed my shoulders were red and even slightly sunburned. I felt a bit frustrated at the moment, but luckily, the resulting photos turned out wonderfully warm.
Let's talk about the costume. The main color palette is blue and white, featuring red diamond patterns on the skirt hem, with the apron and sleeves radiating a delicate girlish charm. The large blue bow on my head was quite tricky to secure, requiring constant readjustments during the shoot. The most hardcore prop was definitely that giant golden fork—it was surprisingly heavy. To capture the character's lively personality, I had to lift the heavy fork while keeping my balance, all while carrying a basket filled with baguettes, apples, and fresh flowers; my arms were completely aching. The white stockings felt a bit stuffy under the blazing sun, and walking on the stone-paved path in Mary Jane shoes made the soles of my feet burning hot.
During the shoot, the photographer meticulously searched for backlit angles, allowing the sunlight to filter through the leaves and cast a golden rim light around the edges of my hair. To ensure clean and aesthetically pleasing shots, we experimented with numerous poses—such as holding the basket in profile, standing on one leg, or facing forward while grasping the props with both hands. The third picture is a steady full-body shot: the facial lighting is well-balanced, and the figure and leg lines are clearly showcased. Even though the shooting process was exhausting and left me drenched in sweat, followed by sore shoulders for days, seeing the vibrant vitality captured in the photos made both the photographer and me feel that all the effort was totally worthwhile.
It was a rare and memorable shooting experience, capturing the warmth of November in Xiamen just before winter set in. When handling large fork props, extra care is needed to prevent metallic edges from snagging the costume. Keeping the outfit clean also requires attention since outdoor grass easily catches dirt. 今回の衣装についてお話しします。メインカラーは青と白で、スカートの裾には赤い菱形の模様があしらわれ、エプロンと袖は少女らしさに溢れています。頭の大きな青いリボンは固定するのが難しく、撮影中何度も角度を直さなければなりませんでした。一番ハードだったのは巨大な金色のフォークで、手に持つとずっしりと重かったです。キャラクターの生き生きとした雰囲気を表現するために、フォークを持ち上げながらバランスを保ち、さらにバゲットやリンゴ、生花がいっぱい詰まったバスケットを持たなければならず、腕が本当に限界まで痛くなりました。白ストッキングは直射日光の下で少し蒸れ、メリージェーンシューズを履いて石畳を歩くと足の裏が熱くなりました。
カメラマンさんは撮影中、丁寧に逆光の位置を探してくれ、木漏れ日が髪の輪郭に金色のリムライトを作り出してくれました。画面の美しさと透明感を保つため、横向きでバスケットを持つ、片足立ち、正面を向いて両手で小道具を握るなど、様々なポーズを試しました。3枚目の写真は立ち姿の全身ショットで、顔への光の当たり方も良く、スタイルや脚のラインも綺麗に収められています。汗だくになり、撮影後もしばらく肩の痛みが続くほど大変な撮影でしたが、写真に写る生き生きとしたエネルギーを見ると、私だけでなくカメラマンさんも苦労した甲斐があったと感じました。
冬が訪れる前に11月のアモイの暖かさを記録できた、とても貴重な撮影体験でした。大きなフォークの小道具を扱う際は、金属の角で衣装を傷つけないよう特に注意が必要です。また、野外の芝生では泥が付きやすいため、衣装を清潔に保つことにも気を配らなければなりません。今回の撮影で多くの経験を得られたので、今後は強い日差しのアウトドア撮影では事前に日焼け止めや日傘を用意し、実際の光量に合わせてシャッタースピードや絞りを調整しながら、より素晴らしい作品を撮りたいと思います。
