To faithfully recreate Aemeath's outfit, the first thing I did after receiving the costume from Huosu Ciyuan was study the flare of the petticoat. This pink-and-white mini dress features an outer white layer with vertical pink stripes and a vivid pink inner layer; combined with the oversized ribbon bow at the bust, the overall visual presence is exceptionally full. With such multi-layered skirt volume, using the wrong petticoat easily creates an unflattering bell-jar shape. I specifically chose an A-line soft petticoat so that when lifting the skirt hem, the natural drape of the folds and lace trims could display organically.
The wig was a massive undertaking. Bright pink twin tails can easily turn frizzy, so I smoothed the ends section by section with a flat iron. The elevated ribbon bow at the crown and the blue-and-white hair ornaments also took a long time to adjust, ensuring a crisp, three-dimensional silhouette from every angle. Makeup-wise, to complement the pink contact lenses, the eye makeup embraced reddish hues dusted with fine glitter, maintaining sharp focus in my gaze under high-key white studio lighting.
Leg detailing was another focal point of this shoot. Beyond the pink-and-white lace garter ring around the thigh, the white lace-up ribbons winding from calves down to ankles required meticulous wrapping. I adjusted the crisscross knots multiple times—not only to prevent them slipping during movement, but also to visually elongate the calf lines. To match the complete styling, I went barefoot throughout the entire session. Pacing barefoot across the seamless cyc wall felt quite chilly underfoot, but for the sake of visual perfection, that minor hurdle was nothing.
Collaborating with Xiajiang Xiaochun this time, the pure white cyc wall made the composition look immaculately clean. To break up the static feel, we experimented with several distinct movement scales. In the first shot, lightly pinching the skirt hem with both hands while turning three-quarters showcased the lace-up ribbons and leg lines; the second lifted one leg with clenched fists at the chest to convey vibrant energy; the third featured one hand on the hip with a single raised finger and a slight body tilt, leaning into playful confidence. The moments when the trailing ribbons fluttered in motion were frozen by the shutter, enhancing dynamic energy. High-key lighting yields a wonderfully translucent glow, but easily washes out subtle fabric shadows, so in post-production we slightly darkened the recesses of the skirt pleats to accentuate three-dimensional depth.
Regarding the fabric, the outer layer resembles satin with a lustrous sheen, which means it easily overexposes under bright lights. When setting up lighting, our key light was kept slightly soft with subtle side fill to outline the dress contours. Furthermore, the lace edges on the skirt hem snag easily, so I handled dressing and changing with extreme care. The choker and wrist cuffs were crafted from snug, form-fitting materials that never hindered posing, though during raised fists I still kept an eye out to prevent wrist cuffs from slipping down. The long, pink-striped semi-translucent streamers trailing from the back required an assistant to pull lightly just out of frame or a wind blower to loft them into the air—nailing the timing of those shutter clicks was quite a challenge. Overall, the sweetness of this styling is turned up to maximum, but every single accessory had to align with pinpoint precision to deliver that flawless anime delicacy.
