For this photoshoot of Jinhsi's "Dreams of the Mountains and Rivers" from Wuthering Waves, the primary goal was to convey a serene yet frosty, ethereal atmosphere. The location was chosen for its wooden staircases and lattice doors, as the structural depth inherent to such environments is exceptionally photogenic. The Hanfu self-styling featured a vast expanse of lightweight white fabric that radiates translucency under sunlight, though it is prone to overexposure if angles aren't carefully managed. Throughout the shoot, I communicated constantly with the photographer to ensure rim or sidelit lighting struck my cheeks and the garment edges, gracefully outlining their contours.
Regarding the cosplay photoshoot posing guide, we experimented with numerous options on set. The stair railing served as an excellent interactive prop; I explored stances like leaning, resting my chin in my hand, and bending forward. To complement the overhead camera angle, I tilted my head slightly upward with my gaze directed aloft, conjuring an ethereal, otherworldly aura in the frame. For the frames featuring a paper umbrella—whether unfurled while ascending the steps or closed and resting on my shoulder—precise wrist control was essential to let the sleeves drape naturally, highlighting the original cut and fluid drape of the attire.
During outdoor location shooting, the wooden doors and corridors proved equally photogenic. I tried kneeling before the doorway or pressing close to the door frame, leveraging foreground obstruction to enrich visual layering. One full-body shot with outstretched arms is a personal favorite; to ensure the wide sleeves fully expanded, I repeatedly adjusted my shoulder posture so the billowing fabric wouldn't obscure my face. Because the long white straight wig paired with expansive garments can easily make one look washed out, our makeup strategy utilized heavy red eyeshadow blended around the eyes, matched with bright blue contact lenses to elevate the visual impact.
Although this outfit appears light and breezy, it actually carries considerable weight. While walking and posing, extra attention had to be paid to the skirt hem's placement to prevent bunching up and looking bulky. Additionally, due to the wig's extreme length, I had to gently support it by hand while navigating stairs to avoid snagging on the banister. Overall, this photo set successfully captured the precise atmosphere I envisioned in terms of light, shadow, and composition. I hope everyone enjoys this sharing!
