This time, I cosplayed Lupa from Wuthering Waves. Choosing this character was not only due to her visually striking design—her pink pigtails paired with a headband, metallic armor, and that heavy red cape draped behind her create an intensely strong visual impact. When preparing this setup, what gave me the biggest headache was actually her matching red polearm prop. Reaching 180cm in length, combined with the weight of metallic paint and transparent parts, holding it up to strike poses was genuinely exhausting.

Heading into the studio for a shoot in this outfit happened right during the sweltering midsummer heat. Although I had anticipated that wearing thick leather armor and high boots in this season would be painful, the actual experience exceeded my expectations. Even with the studio air conditioning running at full capacity, the moment I posed and tried to project a hunter's aura, sweat would pour out uncontrollably. In particular, the form-fitting material of the trousers, coupled with the white high-heeled boots on my feet, kept my lower body in a stifling and tight state for hours.

I have to vent a bit about indoor ceiling heights in Japan. While I am not particularly tall myself, adding this 180cm long weapon prop meant that wielding it slightly or changing my grip angle indoors easily bumped into ceiling lights or fans. A weapon of this length would be much easier to maneuver outdoors or in a large studio, but in a room with low ceilings, capturing dynamic action angles with a strong sense of spatial depth truly tested the photographer's camera positioning and my pose compression. To achieve a perfect diagonal slicing angle for the weapon without blocking my face, I adjusted through numerous crouching and kneeling poses. Going through these Cosplay poses required intense concentration and drained immense physical energy.

Regarding hair and makeup, the pink wig this time was of great quality, cut with distinct layers. Combined with the black textured details on the headband and side decorations, I felt the fidelity met the standard. To fit the character's slightly wild and battle-ready feel, the eye makeup deepened contours and utilized contact lenses matching the character's eye color. Despite the high temperatures during shooting, the makeup maintained a decent matte finish in front of the lens.

Returning to what everyone cares about, I brought three distinctly different compositions for this set. For instance, the first group featured a front-facing combat-ready stance, highlighting the upper body armor details and breathable strapping design across the chest; the second group chose a crouching glance back, perfectly showing off the draped red cape, fluffy animal tail, and tailored cut of the white trousers; the third group built upon a kneeling posture by adding hand-guided movements, while angling the long polearm diagonally across the frame to enhance depth.

Among all the characters in Rinascita, Lupa ranks second in my heart. Number one is undoubtedly Camellya, and number three is Youhu—each of these three characters possesses unique charm. Lupa's confident and delightfully reckless vibe is especially captivating. Having played Wuthering Waves for so long, finally cosplaying one of my top powerhouse characters feels like fulfilling a personal milestone. Although wearing heavy gear in the dead of summer was immensely tough and soaked my outfit in sweat, seeing the character's lively yet aggressive stance frozen in the final photos made everything feel entirely worth it. From this shoot, I deeply felt that perfectly portraying a character in cosplay isn't just about accurate costumes and props—it requires understanding the character's true temperament to capture that exclusive aura in front of the camera.
