[Amiya Cosplay] Cool Summer Outfit, Who Understands the Joy of a Midriff-Baring Look?

This Summer outfit for this Guangzhou Anime Convention truly made even me feel incredibly cute. Before setting off, I kept thinking about how to dress for browsing the convention in summer so that it would both fit the character's traits and embody practicality and comfort. In the end, I chose this pink-and-white checkered off-the-shoulder, midriff-baring top paired with light blue denim shorts, and facts proved this decision was absolutely right. The air conditioning in the exhibition hall was actually quite sufficient, but this outfit happened to prevent people from feeling stuffy and hot, making it highly easy and free to walk around.

Actually, the part that made me most satisfied with this look was the waist and the overall clear, translucent color palette. Especially after seeing the photos come out, when netizens said "the tummy is too cute," I also felt that this cropped top could indeed display the lines of the waist and torso exceptionally well. I didn't deliberately strike any forced poses; it just presents a highly natural, very relaxed summer girl state. To match this sense of coolness, I also spent a little thought on the accessories: the blue ribbon choker on the neck echoed the thigh ring of the same color spectrum, making the blue, white, and pink color tones appear exceptionally clean and refreshing in front of the lens.

The two important props brought along for this set of photos also carried a great sense of presence. One is a plastic round fan printed with colorful stars and English words, which could serve as a face-concealing little prop during the shoot in the hall, while adding some lively body movements to keep the frame from being rigid. The other is the blue small bag worn sideways, with a brown small animal plush charm placed inside the mesh pocket. These plush minor objects can always add a lot of childish fun and approachability to the overall styling, and also gave this Summer outfit a few more layers.

The foot traffic at the convention site was actually massive, making it far from easy to find a clean background to shoot satisfying photos, but the photographer's snapshots were exceptionally precise. Whether it was the frozen moment of holding the hat brim or the instant of stretching the posture while holding the fan, both captured that natural, vivid atmosphere. The final few backlit photos also felt particularly amazing, with the sunlight striking in from outside the glass curtain wall, reflecting the entire person as bright and luminous. From the hair and makeup to the outfit across the entire styling, I maintained the principle of keeping it clean and crisp, avoiding over-stacking complex accessories; the simpler the summer clothes are, the more they test the overall color balance.

Besides the clothing itself, the makeup also intentionally toned down the saturation, using only clear base makeup and a natural lip color, plus the prominent blue contact lenses to concentrate the visual focus on the gaze and the overall crisp, refreshing temperament. This kind of makeup and styling is highly suitable for shooting in environments like a large-scale convention, looking so refreshing as if carrying a built-in cooling filter. When finishing this set of convention photos, although I was quite tired, seeing that confident yet slightly playful appearance holding a fan and wearing a midriff-baring top in the final prints made all the hard work worthwhile. The joy of the convention tour season is probably like this—meeting the character and everyone in reality, recording the best current state with a carefully curated outfit.
