This Hatsune Miku Christmas photoshoot took a lot of thought and preparation from early planning to the final output. To match the seasonal feel of Winter cosplay, the set was chosen in an indoor studio featuring wooden walls and window frames. The gear setup relied on the Sony a7m4 paired with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II; this combination's color science and lens rendering performed exceptionally well amid intricate indoor illumination. With warm ambient lighting indoors and natural light seeping in by the window, the f/2.8 aperture cleanly separated the subject from the busy backdrop while delivering just the right amount of bokeh on the Christmas tree and gift boxes.

For hair and makeup, the turquoise twin-tail wig was styled with an oversized pink bow and white fuzzy earmuffs, adding visual volume around the head to contour the face into looking more delicate. In addition to enlarging the eyes, the makeup incorporated orange-red undertones across the outer eye corners and lower lids to evoke a subtle, frosty winterflush effect. Outfit-wise, instead of a traditional red-and-white holiday skirt, I chose this all-white plush set. The white capelet jacket and the hems of the plush shorts, combined with over-the-knee White stockings, maximized leg lines while keeping things cozy. The White stockings and white heels adorned with fluffy cuffs were central highlights—they elongated the legs while echoing the plush aesthetic, allowing graceful body proportions to stand out from seated angles with just minor adjustments.

Props played a vital role throughout the shoot. The red-and-white striped candy cane served as a great interactive element; holding it in hand, propping it against the shoulder, or pretending to taste it kept poses lively and fluid. Furthermore, stacks of wrapped gift boxes served as wonderful staging aids. I tried kneeling on the rug holding a gift box, as well as sitting atop the wooden table by the window with legs crossed, seamlessly guiding the viewer's focus toward the legs and stockings. In one pose, I held a gift box overhead with both hands, letting the furry hems fall naturally to reveal subtle collarbone lines—a composition that felt naturally alluring and became the cover shot.

The wooden textures in the background, the lush Christmas tree, and various assorted gift boxes established an immersive holiday spirit. Between takes, I coordinated framing and shot sizes with the photographer, using foliage outside the window as foreground bokeh to add depth of field. Though walking in heels and layered fabrics was physically demanding, seeing the final Christmas portrait made every effort worthwhile. This photo set captures a warm holiday memory, and I hope it delivers that festive warmth to you.
