Today is Momoka's birthday and also Little Goldfish's birthday, making it the perfect occasion to release this Arknights Haruka cosplay photoset. This outdoor shoot was set in a garden flourishing with pink roses and multiflora blossoms. To faithfully honor the character design, I prepared a loose white long-sleeved coat paired with a navy blue pleated mini skirt adorned with red vertical pinstripes; the crimson cord at the waist and red gloves forged a strikingly vivid chromatic contrast against the lush greenery and pink floral backdrop. For the wig, I selected long pink-gold gradient curls, topped with a prominent statement bow and paired with pointed elf ear prosthetics. For makeup, I deliberately deepened the soft pink eyeshadow blending and added a beauty mark upon the cheek, aligning the overall facial aesthetic seamlessly with the character's gentle aura.
The staff prop in hand was conceptualized and crafted well in advance. The top features a circular ring enclosing a star frame with orange-red borders, mounted on a detachable modular pole. The natural lighting on the day of the shoot was phenomenal: the photographer captured numerous backlit angles where sunlight filtered through leafy branches to trace radiant rim lighting along the hair strands. To construct compelling compositions, we explored diverse postures—from crouching among the rose bushes to use foreground blooms as creamy, soft-focus bokeh for an ethereal appearance peeking out from a floral sea, to sitting relaxed upon a wooden bench raising the staff with one hand, allowing the body to stretch naturally. We also captured standing poses where I propped one foot on the bench while holding the staff with the other hand—a stance that beautifully elongated the leg lines and highlighted the pairing of the skirt drape and white boots, which I ultimately selected as the cover photo.
The raw image tones were warm and translucent, exuding a luminous glow without needing heavy post-processing overhauls. Because this outfit carries numerous accessories and the outer coat has noticeable fabric weight, shooting outdoors demanded considerable physical endurance—especially with the mid-calf white boots featuring red crisscross straps, which looked stunning on camera yet required careful balance while walking. Seeing the warm breeze and floral shadows intertwined in the final frames, however, made every ounce of effort profoundly worthwhile. During this doujin creators' festival, being able to share works alongside so many remarkable creators is truly delightful. On this special day belonging to Momoka and Little Goldfish, I dedicate this Haruka cosplay bathed in summer garden sunlight to them, wishing them vibrant energy and joy like blooming pink roses. The greatest allure of cosplay for me is completely immersing myself into another character's soul through attire and props. Haruka is an exceptionally ethereal and spirited character, so I kept my gaze soft and movements gentle, ensuring the staff felt poised and effortless in hand. To enrich visual depth, I transitioned across various garden vistas, leveraging the depth of climbing trellises and staggered flower arrangements to create a dynamic visual journey. The white boots paired with the navy pleated skirt, balanced by the contrast of crimson gloves, completed a richly saturated palette. Reviewing the raw files after wrapping up, every composition stood solid and confident, leaving practically no wasted frames.
