The group photoshoot with the four girls is finally wrapped, serving as a thoroughly complete Is the Order a Rabbit? location shoot documenting the Chimame Corps and Fuyu cosplay. We chose to shoot inside a richly vintage-styled cafe, decorated with an abundance of bunny plushes, floral arrangements, and tea party props that perfectly mirrored the everyday warmth of these four characters in the series.
First, let's talk about the hair, makeup, and wardrobe. All four of us wore the classic Chimame Corps uniform style. Although the overall silhouettes are cohesive, the color palette and tailored details of each vest differ distinctly. Chino cosplay features a soft pastel blue vest paired with a matching ribbon tie; her wig was chosen in her signature icy light blue, trimmed with straight blunt bangs and accented on both sides with crossed bobby pins. Maya cosplay sports deep blue short hair, where the iconic ahoge cowlick at the crown had to be firmly set with hairspray, complementing a navy blue bowtie and vest. Megumi's bright orange-red twin tails are incredibly eye-catching, with her vibrant red vest and ribbon infusing the frame with radiant energy. Fuyu cosplay wears the rich deep violet variation, styled with a neat blunt-cut bob. Before starting, we carefully ironed and smoothed the ruffled cuffs, collars, and pleated skirts of our white blouses to ensure every contour held up flawlessly under the camera lens.
Shooting a group set of four genuinely tests team coordination. Because all four of us shared the frame, our positioning, sightlines, and physical gestures had to remain closely harmonized rather than acting independently. For example, in the group shot in Photo 4, we posed in a symmetrical open-arm stance where the body language of Chino, Maya, Megumi, and Fuyu needed to echo one another, requiring repeated adjustments to our spacing and hand heights. For the shots of us gathered around the wooden table sipping black tea and enjoying cupcakes, we carefully modulated our expressions and motion arcs so the scene felt natural yet rich in storytelling. The photographers (@MiaoDanpoi, @SAGIRI, @cinno) excelled at capturing spontaneous moments, constantly prompting interactions like having Megumi and me exchange genuine smiles, or directing Maya to hold her saucer with a cheeky grin. This effectively dissolved any artificial stiffness, making the four girls look truly alive in the frames.
The on-site bunny plushes and floral corners gave us tremendous creative leeway. We took turns cradling white cat and rabbit stuffed toys, or handling props like vintage books and delicate teacups to enrich hand placements. As cosplayers, beyond nailing costumes and wigs, the paramount goal is projecting the characters' personalities and interconnected bonds. Channeling that relaxed, healing, and subtly playful rapport of the Chimame Corps and Fuyu was the core heartbeat of this shoot.
From a technical perspective of photography and color grading, the warm indoor lighting infused the frames with a nostalgic vintage mood, while sweeping green foliage and pink blossoms in the background served as gorgeous chromatic foils against the blue, red, and purple vests. During breaks between takes, we continually checked our makeup; the orange-red wig in particular easily showed stray frizz under studio lights and required ongoing combing. Overall, the polished finish of this group shoot wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of every partner, including our logistics support (@TodayWouldYouLikeSomeXueranMa) who helped steam garments and organize props.
