[Feixiao cosplay] The General's Character and Autumn Red Leaves

This set of Feixiao cosplay photos was completed on the stone steps of a garden this autumn. I have always wanted to shoot characters with this kind of cool and detached temperament. To accurately recreate the setting of Feixiao in Honkai: Star Rail, this costume chooses a combination of matte-textured pure white and deep blue, with many stiff structural supports made at the neckline and shoulders. The pattern details on the shoulders and the decorations at the waist have been adjusted repeatedly to ensure a sharp silhouette in front of the lens.

Everyone has probably noticed the high-slit tailoring of this outfit. When shooting this set of photos via outdoor photography, those two long skirt panels draped over the stone steps, paired with the high heels of the boots, beautifully showcase the character's body proportions whether standing or gently leaning against the railing. The black shorts and black leather straps at the thighs serve as one of the visual anchors, forming a very strong contrast with the white belt. The makeup specially emphasizes the sharpness of the eyes and brows, echoing the blue eyeshadow, the animal ears with ice-blue gradients, and the white hair, trying to convey a confident yet slightly scrutinizing vibe in the gaze.

The weather on the day of the shoot was a huge plus. The red maple leaves had high color saturation, perfectly setting off the cool-toned character. Compared to indoor studios, this kind of shooting under natural light via outdoor photography tests the quality of the makeup and costume even more, and requires a greater focus on the coordination between composition and lighting. Standing on this stone bridge, with the shadows of the trees reflected on the water behind me, the natural light and shadow hit the white fabric of the clothes, making the folds and details in the dark areas look very vivid. The center of gravity of this cosplay costume is a bit toward the back. To stand firmly on the steps and strike this arm-crossing pose, my legs were actually quite sore during shooting breaks, but the final result indeed met my expectations.

If you look closely at the eyes, this time I not only wore blue colored contact lenses but also applied longer false eyelashes. Paired with the mark on the forehead, this makes the whole face look more three-dimensional and exquisite. Cosplay creation is never as simple as just putting on clothes. From the trial makeup to the costume fitting, and then to the synchronization with the photographer on location, every step is actually an attempt to break the 2D wall. I really enjoy this process of building a 2D character in a real-world setting. Even if it's just completing a set of images, it's a very fun experience. I hope this set of Feixiao can present that "very capable in combat" aura from her setting, which can be considered a satisfying answer sheet handed in for my passion.
