[Hu Tao cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Kurumi Tsuchimikado Sakura Cloud Celestial: Display under Fox Ears and Cherry Blossoms

Diving straight into the behind-the-scenes of this Kurumi Tsuchimikado Sakura Cloud Celestial styling, focusing on the details of this shoot. To restore the character's temperament from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, I prepared this pink chiffon dress in advance. The large flowers and red borders on the dress wrinkle easily, so we kept using a garment steamer on set to smooth them out. The wig features a white-to-pink gradient; the strands tangle easily, and combined with the fox ears, a lot of hairspray was required to set the styling. For makeup, I tried pink-toned eyeshadow paired with red lips, and specifically adjusted the color of colored contact lenses to match the character's mystical aura. For the shooting location, we found a studio featuring Japanese-style wooden lattices and lanterns, decorating in advance with numerous cherry blossom branches and scattered petals to enhance the atmosphere. A white rug was laid on the floor, and the photographer used a wide spread of soft lighting, paying special attention to the metallic reflections on the leg ring and red strings, which produced a very translucent effect. In terms of posing, we experimented repeatedly with sitting postures and extended lines of movement—especially the pose in Photo 4, which not only fully showcases the legs and red strings, but also seamlessly blends with the drapery at the bottom of the frame. The fan prop was reinforced on the spot because it tended to slip when held for a long time. In post-processing, the focus was on cleaning up messy flyaways, applying soft blur and lighting effects to the cherry blossoms, and making delicate composite adjustments to the scattered petals on the floor, all while maintaining a consistent pink color palette. Cosplaying this type of character always requires a lot of time for wardrobe maintenance and lighting adjustments, but this costume is relatively lightweight, giving the skirt hem a wonderful flow when moving around. This cosplay experience was truly fulfilling—not only as a faithful recreation of the character, but also as a rewarding challenge to my styling abilities.
