For this 9-grid photoshoot of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Yin Ziping cosplay, I chose a modified white mini dress infused with traditional elements. To highlight the jacquard texture of the fabric and the crisp black outline trims, we intentionally used a solid gray backdrop and soft lighting, allowing the white to take on a cool-toned, dimensional depth in this Anime-style photography.

In choreographing the poses, needing enough variety for a nine-grid display meant balancing standing, crouching, and different prop interactions. The costume features unique cutouts along the waist; to flatter this design, opening the chest, engaging the core, and angling slightly sideways created a much smoother curve. White over-the-knee Stockings and white pumps visually flattered leg lines. When taking full-body shots, I leaned slightly forward or lifted one leg while shifting my center of gravity backward to inject dynamic tension into the frame, pairing with a slightly lower camera angle to elongate the leg lines further.

The props were a white folding fan and a long sword adorned with a turquoise gemstone on the hilt. Gestures with the folding fan leaned toward graceful fluidity; flicking my wrist in coordination with my line of sight—opening, snapping shut, or half-concealing the face—all served to frame facial contours and subtle expressions. The long sword was suited for showcasing a cool, resolute aura, whether gripping it two-handed resting against the floor, or turning sideways to glance back with sword in hand, utilizing the metallic glint of the weapon to contrast against the soft fabric of the costume.

During a break between takes, there was a fun little interlude: a gray-and-black tabby cat wandered over, so I simply went with the flow, crouching on the floor to interact with the kitty. Looking at the final shots, that spontaneous contrast felt delightfully lively.

Every shutter click required continuous micro-adjustments of shoulder height, spinal posture, and where my gaze landed. It was essential to avoid overexertion that could cause stiff poses, keeping breathing as steady as possible. Regarding lighting, the key light spilled down diagonally from above, coordinated with reflectors to give the skin a radiant, translucent look. This photo set leans toward a cool-toned anime aesthetic, covering most foundational posing options, and I hope it offers useful inspiration to anyone planning shoots in a similar cosplay style.
