This time, Vatour's styling made many breakthroughs in makeup design, intentionally using an extremely pale base makeup to set off the ice-blue contact lenses. To achieve this high-contrast visual effect, the eyeshadow deepened the contour smudging, paired with a dark purplish-red lipstick, in order to restore the character's dangerous yet charming traits. The wig chose fluffy golden long wavy hair, which not only modified the face shape but also added a bit of retro grace to the overall look. The direction of the hair strands was combed many times to present a natural messy beauty as much as possible.
In terms of clothing, this dark slim-fit slip dress with a metallic luster has a high degree of fit, and there will be a nice flow of light and shadow when walking. The fabric itself has extremely strong reflective properties, and the texture presented under the lights is very high-end. The side high-slit long dress design of the skirt hem has special advantages when shooting in a sitting posture, naturally displaying the leg lines. To increase the layering sense, the black feather shawl is indispensable; it makes the overall silhouette look heavier and echoes the dark tone. Although the feather shawl has a certain weight when worn, it can indeed enhance the aura a lot. The white elbow-length long gloves paired on both hands form a classic black-and-white contrast with the black feathers.
Accessories are also a focus this time. The blue gemstone choker and layered pearl necklaces perfectly fit the character's sense of identity. The champagne glass, slender cigarette holder, and walking stick held in hand are all great interactive props. The shooting venue chose retro red curtains, iron bookshelves, and black-and-white checkerboard flooring. Especially the moment of sitting on the brown leather sofa holding the cigarette holder, it is very easy to be brought into that lazy and aloof atmosphere. When posing, I deliberately slowed down my movements, cooperating with the heavy-duty costume, so that every expression and gaze fit Vatour's aura even better.
During standing shots, utilizing the high-slit long dress hem and pointy-high heels, paired with the action of holding a goblet, can create a strong theatricality in front of the red velvet curtain. During sitting shots, crossing the legs and letting the skirt hem fall naturally can better showcase a lazy aristocratic temperament. The checkerboard flooring and red curtain at the shooting site formed a strong visual impact, providing a great background support for the composition. The light and shadow tone of the entire set of photos leans towards dark tones, highlighting the reflective texture of the metallic fabric. Thanks to photographer Merlin for the precise control of the on-site atmosphere, capturing many details under the alternating use of flash and natural light. From makeup and styling to the scene, the whole process was an attempt to restore the character's unique temperament where brokenness and sharpness coexist, which is a very interesting experience for understanding and expressing the character.
