[Label cosplay] Halloween gloomy otaku girl style - Image 1

Halloween is really suitable for cosplaying characters with a bit of a dark otaku attribute; this time I chose to challenge Label from "Goddess of Victory: Nikke". To fit the otaku atmosphere of "lonely Halloween" with its slight sense of loneliness and gloominess, I put a lot of thought into the makeup, styling, and overall pairing, and I also want to share some practical details with everyone.

Let's start with this wig. This black-and-purple streaked shag cut is the soul of the entire styling. When trimming, I deliberately made the layers very high, cutting the bangs on the forehead into a wispy, airy feel, which not only flatters the face shape but also adds a slovenly yet slightly individualistic otaku feel. For the purple part, I chose a bright purple with moderate saturation, which will look exceptionally textured in low-light environments without being too abrupt.

In terms of makeup, the focus is on creating a pale, bloodless, gloomy feeling. For the base makeup, I chose a foundation one shade lighter than my skin tone and used matte loose powder heavily to set it, removing the skin's original luster. For the eye makeup, to highlight this otaku feel, I wore light purple contact lenses paired with black-framed glasses, which instantly magnify the eyes. The eyeshadow used a grayish-purple base, the eyeliner only drew the tightline, and the outer corners of the eyes drooped slightly, adding a bit of an innocent yet slightly downcast feeling. For the most crucial lip makeup, I used a glossy reddish-brown lip tint. Against the backdrop of the pale base makeup, this trace of redness stands out exceptionally, serving as a small bright splash of color in the entire dark styling.

On accessories, the thick black-framed non-prescription glasses are the finishing touch. A slightly larger frame makes the face look smaller, and the thick black frame naturally carries a kind of nerdy and otaku vibe, which fits the overall styling very well.

For clothing matching, I chose a basic black camisole, draped with a black hollow-knit cardigan outside. This half-slipped-off wearing method can reveal a bit of shoulder and neck line, moderately adding a hint of sexiness into the gloomy otaku girl style. The hollow-out design of the cardigan can increase the layering of the clothes, preventing an all-black pairing from looking rigid, and instead allowing a bit of breathability under the light.

During the shoot, because the theme was "lonely Halloween", I found a relatively dark corner indoors. The main light source used a warm-toned desk lamp shining from the front side, which can create shadows on the face, increasing three-dimensionality and that slightly gloomy atmosphere. The background was kept as clean as possible, leaving only a light-colored wall so that the visual focus is entirely concentrated on the person and styling. In terms of posing, no overly exaggerated actions are needed; slightly tilting the head, looking at the lens with a lazy and dreamy gaze, and placing the hand naturally near the neck or shoulder can very well express the character's state. This kind of shooting method with its own sense of storytelling is actually more immersive than studio shooting. Mastering the lighting and styling allows you to shoot atmosphere-filled Halloween blockbuster photos right at home.
