Today's set of photos digs out that side of me that is usually not easy to show. Actually, I usually shoot sweet styles more often, but this time changing into this black-and-white maid outfit, when looking in the mirror, I couldn't help but click my tongue. This clicking isn't a complaint, but that feeling of being instantly possessed by the character. The character Tsubaki Rurikawa carries a subtle sense of contrast—clearly dressed as a maid, yet exuding the pride and disdain unique to Maid Education: The Fallen Noble Daughter Tsubaki Rurikawa. Therefore, before the shoot, the photographer and I discussed for a long time how to accurately convey this impatience and arrogance without making people feel like it's just making a scene.

In terms of makeup and styling, a lot of effort was truly put in. The wig is trimmed to chin length, and the bangs should just cover the eyebrows without being too heavy, so that when looking back, the gaze can become the visual center. Blue contact lenses are the soul, matched with a cool-toned base makeup and a touch of dark red lip gloss, making the entire temperament turn cold instantly. The details of the costume also stand up to scrutiny: the metal buttons of the black top, the white ruffles at the cuffs, and the white apron around the waist, every layer of fabric must be distinct against the dark background. To ensure the puffiness of the skirt hem, a petticoat is actually supported inside, so when sitting on the sofa, the skirt hem fans out naturally, which, paired with the white socks on the legs, forms a strong visual contrast with the dark brown leather sofa.

The shooting location was chosen as a vintage study, featuring checkered flooring, an old-fashioned grandfather clock, and wooden bookshelves. The entire environment is actually quite oppressive, but precisely because of this heavy sense, it instead accentuates the lightness and indifference of the character. There is a shot where I am kneeling in the sofa looking back; this action demands quite a bit of waist and core strength, requiring me to keep my back straight at all times, chin slightly tucked, and then look up at the lens from below. The photographer asked me to imagine being just disturbed during a nap, that feeling of being too lazy to care yet forced to take a look. After a few takes, I finally captured that moment of lifting the eyes carrying a bit of weariness and disdain.

The difficulty of the other poses sitting on the desk and leather suitcase lies in the display of the leg lines. To make the legs look slender and well-contoured, the insteps must be pointed straight and slightly pigeon-toed, while the upper body must maintain absolute relaxation. The action of lifting the skirt hem also requires practice; the position where the fingers pinch the skirt must be precise, and the lifting range cannot be too large, otherwise it will look stiff, nor too small, otherwise the layers of the skirt won't be seen. During shooting breaks, I found that the dark leather sofa and retro leather suitcase absorb light easily; the lighting technician adjusted the softbox angle for a long time to give the leg skin a natural highlight without looking greasy.

The entire shooting process actually requires quite a bit of physical strength. The look of disdain requires facial features to cooperate, and sometimes staring for too long makes the eyes dry, so I had to stop and use eye drops. To create the atmosphere of a fallen noble, not many exaggerated props are needed; a simple wooden desk and a few scattered books can build that feeling of decline yet putting on airs. The cooperation of the entire team was also exceptionally tacit; from set design to lighting, everyone tried their best to restore that retro yet piercingly cold texture.

This Tsubaki Rurikawa cosplay maid outfit styling was a thoroughly satisfying attempt for me. There is no need to deliberately pander to the lens; just standing there and passing a signal of "don't mess with me" through the gaze is enough. I hope this set of photos allows everyone to feel a different style. Whether it's the details of the clothing or the shaping of the expression, I have done my utmost to get close to that unique temperament.
