From set design to final edits, this photoshoot took plenty of thought—it shouldn't be judged as simple just from the final frame. Before shooting, I specifically checked the angles in the animated storyboards and original artwork. The visual of slumping on the sofa with one hand propping up the back of the head and snack bags resting nearby felt exceptionally leisurely and relaxed. To achieve this effortless authenticity, the most demanding part of pre-production was the costume.

The costume is a custom black-and-white Maid outfit, with the light aqua bow at the chest serving as the finishing touch; I compared several color swatches to ensure it matched the original artwork's visual tone. Balancing the textures of the white ruffled apron and dark sleeves was crucial—ensuring they looked neither cheap nor overly rigid. For the wig, I selected a blonde short style; even with the hair accessory attached, the bangs and loose side strands still needed careful trimming to achieve that gently tousled, fluffy texture typical of a casual Lazy daily life.

During the shoot, my core idea was channeling the relaxed sensation of slumping down after eating and drinking to my heart's content. Lifting my legs at staggered heights, accentuated by the fit of the White stockings, added a clear visual focal point to the frame. This pose actually tested my physical coordination—looking completely effortless while ensuring the lines in the viewfinder remained flattering and relaxed. The yellow snack packaging by my hand was a custom-sourced matching prop, while the long-handled broom resting nearby added everyday slice-of-life ambiance, preventing the scene from feeling empty.

Although my eyes look barely open in the photos to convey that sleepy state, the actual shooting process was quite lively. To portray that adorable, half-asleep daze right after munching on potato chips, facial expressions required delicate restraint: relaxing facial muscles with the mouth slightly parted, avoiding forced exaggerated gestures that might look artificial. Because the illustrations and animation lighting in Blue Archive are warm and cozy, I deliberately selected warm-toned lighting to complement the blue-and-white checkered sofa and orange pillows, softening the entire color palette.

In post-processing, I avoided exaggerated edits, prioritizing a natural, relaxed Lazy daily life atmosphere. Every time I do a slice-of-life cosplay full of authentic charm, I feel even closer to the character's personality. In the game, she is usually so energetic and rambunctious, yet the moment the player returns to the lobby, she welcomes you with this completely unguarded posture—that gap creates such endearing warmth. The day of the shoot was actually exhausting with makeup, styling, and set preparation, but the moment I slumped onto the sofa, it became genuine relaxation.

While a Maid outfit is gorgeous, making it look naturally slumped means the spine shouldn't be stiffly upright—otherwise, it becomes a prim afternoon tea rather than someone who just stuffed snacks into their mouth, wiped their lips, and got ready to doze off. I believe the key to this photoshoot was capturing the character's genuine comfort—not forcing rigid poses, but sincerely enjoying the scene in front of the lens and embracing this carefree indolence.

The White stockings appeared soft and textured under warm lighting, harmonizing visually with the ruffled hem of the maid skirt. I remember adjusting my arm posture multiple times to make it look like a natural downward slump while ensuring the hand framing the face didn't appear forced—that was the core soul of recreating this artwork. In hunting down props, finding a yellow potato chip bag matching the color, size, and look of the original art was actually the toughest part. Lying on the sofa gazing at the ceiling after wrapping up, I felt that if I could truly roll around freely in a Maid outfit in my own living room one day, touching another dimension's daily life through clothing—that is the true magic of Saiba Momoi cosplay in Blue Archive.
