This time I tried styling my own Firefly JK original design. Since I just moved into my new home, I quickly took the first set of photos to document it. The pure white interior environment combined with white thigh-highs outfit and a light-colored JK uniform matched surprisingly well, creating a clean and clear atmosphere without needing complex lighting. The outfit features a light off-white sailor-collar jacket paired with a light grey-green pleated skirt, giving off a daily yet energetic girl vibe. Instead of the heavier design from the original work, I changed the ribbon tie to a vibrant bright orange, accented by the blue-green gem on the chest and her iconic blue-and-white hair ribbon on the left ear, hoping to best capture Firefly's lively charm. Pairing white thigh-highs outfit with a JK style really elevates the overall refinement, and the platform brown loafers keep it comfortable while visually lengthening the legs. I specifically placed the prop ice-blue long sword to the side to help with framing; its translucent blue echoes the light green gradient at the ends of the hair, creating a unified color scheme that isn't monotonous. The pure white plush rug and round stool at my new place made for great natural backdrops, saving a lot of setup time. During the shoot, I adjusted my sitting pose and the angle of holding the phone to find a natural, lively stance. Overall, I feel this original design achieved a great visual balance. The long silver-white wig has a nice drape, and the small hair accessories help boost character recognition. Even though it's my own design rather than a full canon recreation, I think creating a pretty original design for casual settings is a super fun aspect of casual cosplay. My new home has large areas of white tones, which are very forgiving for cool-toned outfits, effortlessly creating the desired soft texture. This photo shoot was full of relaxed vibes without tedious scene changes, letting me focus mostly on choosing angles. For beginner or intermediate shoots, a simple and clean background often highlights outfit details and character state better. The pure white room in my new place has excellent natural light and no cluttered background, so once I finalized the idea, I immediately found time to shoot it. When styling this outfit initially, I struggled with several ribbon colors. I ultimately chose orange because it creates a great color contrast and transition with the blue-green hair accessories and light green skirt. The best part of mirror selfies is being able to check the overall effect through the viewfinder anytime—like if my hair is messy, if the skirt hem is rolled up, or how the prop sword is angled. The texture of this outfit is light, fitting summer or indoor refreshing vibes. While white thigh-highs outfit offers a clean visual effect, it also tests the lighting and angles. Luckily, the light in my new home was very soft, preventing awkward color differences between the white thigh-highs and the skirt. The loafers have a slight platform, rounded and cute, matching the school uniform style well while being sturdy to walk in. The blue prop sword is actually quite heavy—holding it with one hand when not posing made my arm a bit sore, but placing it nearby as a still object complemented the composition nicely. For solo selfies like this, I like using body positioning and camera angles to create depth, such as turning slightly or using knee height. I hope this set conveys an authentic, cozy vibe closer to daily life rather than stage glamor. I really cherish this first shoot in my new environment and will gradually decorate this corner in my own style. I'll treat this share as a milestone memory, letting these photos hold onto my relaxed mood and this satisfying outfit coordination.
