[Queen of Reason Sphene cosplay] Final Fantasy XIV Guangzhou CICF Expo Record

The convention photos from Guangzhou CICF Expo are finally sorted, and today I'd love to share this Final Fantasy XIV Queen of Reason Sphene cosplay with everyone. The shoot took place outside the exhibition hall under plentiful sunshine, where the natural light filtering through the glass curtain wall accentuated the garment textures flawlessly.

Let's start with the outfit details—this costume was definitely one of the more intricate designs I've crafted recently. The palette revolves around bright yellow, light green, and pure white. The top features an off-the-shoulder cut spliced with white lace jacquard fabric, presenting an airy aesthetic. The choker and the gemstone pendant on the chest serve as the visual centerpieces, framed by interwoven gold threads and fine cords. The white detached arm sleeves have flared cuffs edged with golden lines, requiring careful fitting when worn so they don't slip. The headpiece is an openwork crown intertwining cyan and white, paired with ash-green textured strands to lend rich dimensional layers to the overall look.

The skirt design below is remarkably elaborate: the yellow outer layer features an asymmetrical cut bordered by gold trim and white geometric patches, the middle layer consists of pleated light blue tulle, and the innermost layer incorporates laser-reflective material. In motion, the skirt floats with incredible dynamism. Styling it with white stockings underneath created a soft, airy elongation. Bringing this outfit to life at the expo took plenty of prep—especially the massive side-waist ornament with purple and cyan flowers and tassels, which needed repeated positional adjustments so it wouldn't obstruct arm movements.

Since the outfit colors are vibrant, using a wide aperture to soften the background created clean visual separation. In lore, Queen of Reason Sphene carries an aura of dignified majesty tinged with sorrowful compassion. In posing, I leaned into closing my eyes in quiet focus, gracefully extending my arms, and lightly raising my fingertips. For example, in the third full-body shot, I tilted my head down slightly and opened both arms outward, which not only displayed the full breadth of the layered skirt, but also allowed the camera to capture leg lines and the overarching silhouette.

Wearing this cosplay on the convention floor definitely tested physical stamina: with multi-layered skirts and a delicate headpiece to balance, movement was somewhat restricted all day. Yet being at the Guangzhou CICF China International Comics Festival Expo, meeting so many fellow Final Fantasy XIV players, and exchanging crafting insights made every bit of effort worthwhile. Styling the wig also took serious dedication, as the defined wavy bangs and dangling side locks required copious amounts of hairspray and flat irons to hold their shape.

Breezes outside the hall were quite brisk; every time I extended my arms, the tulle skirt and flared sleeves caught the wind, delivering an unexpected dynamic flair. The styling is packed with micro-details—from the lace trim on the sleeves to the tassels at the waist, each element was worth recording through the lens. I hope these convention photos reveal a unique side of Sphene at the expo and preserve these shared, beautiful 2D memories.
