After slipping into this white Sailor suit and tying the dark blue bow, I decided to scout the stone steps and stone walls to capture a photo set imbued with a serene, cool atmosphere. On the day of the shoot, there was a light mist—not too heavy, but perfectly echoing the feeling of fine drizzle stretching across the landscape. Holding my Fujifilm X-H1, because I wanted to preserve that clean, translucent color tone, I kept the settings strictly to straight-out-of-camera output throughout the session. Without complex post-processing color grading, the camera's built-in film simulations were more than enough to render the low-saturation, cool ambiance I was aiming for.

In terms of styling, the white Sailor suit paired with a dark blue bow is a classic combination. For the lower half, I chose a white pleated skirt along with over-the-knee White stockings and black loafers. White stockings under natural light actually require careful handling; if the light is too harsh, they can easily look artificial. Fortunately, that day offered soft, diffuse lighting, allowing the White stockings to hug the leg lines and render a natural texture.

During the shoot, I tried my best to blend into the environment—sitting on the weathered stone steps or leaning against the rugged stone wall. Conveying emotion before the camera is never easy, especially when striving to express a reserved, introverted, and slightly melancholic state. I tried to empty my mind, avoiding deliberate poses, just sitting there, occasionally brushing my hair or looking up at the weeping willows in the distance.

Both the photography and post-processing of this set were completed entirely by myself. In framing the composition, I intentionally used a wide aperture to blur the background trees and distant architecture, focusing visual attention sharply on the character and costume details. A posture like sitting on the stone steps with legs slightly crossed showcases the pairing of White stockings and loafers wonderfully, while subtly lengthening overall body proportions with a slight side angle. Many friends ask me how to capture this quiet atmosphere; aside from location choice, I feel the most crucial element is the relaxed state of the subject. There is no need to stare fixedly at the camera; you can look outside the frame or cast your eyes downward, letting the photographer snap those casual, unintended moments.

The texture of the stone wall, the mottled yellow warning paint on the steps, and the lush green vegetation in the background combine to form a natural vintage outdoor studio. This set features minimal props, with my only companion being a small white crossbody bag. There is a descriptive quote I adore within the photos: 'The area of your eyes must be smaller than a lake, and you rarely cry. Yet why, when I stand beside you, do I feel like I'm standing by a lake?' Although the images capture a relatively static moment, I hope to convey these subtle emotional ripples through the interplay of light and shadow. The initial intent behind shooting this set was simply to document the everyday feeling of walking through natural scenery in a JK uniform, without artificially forcing a strong visual impact, but rather quietly preserving that tranquil atmosphere of the moment.
