[Hyacinthia cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Post-Exam Winter Solstice Routine with Little Ika

This set of Hyacinthia cosplay photos from Honkai: Star Rail was finally shot today, taking advantage of the Winter Solstice dumpling-eating tradition to clear out some archived photos. The pink-and-blue gradient wavy curly wig really tests styling skills—it can't be too messy nor too neat. Paired with a thin wire headpiece featuring small round spheres on top, a deep red vest with gold patterns, a pure white fluffy puff-sleeve top, and a light pink semi-transparent shawl, the overall look pretty much met my expectations. As an essential prop for this photoshoot, Little Ika—with its white plush body, tiny gold crown, and blue bow tie on top—adds plenty of lively elements whether held in my arms or sitting nearby. The White stockings with black ruffled ankle accents elongate the legs when worn with thick-soled loafers, and occasionally stepping barefoot on the gray plush carpet brings a very natural homey feel.

The shooting location was chosen in a relatively spacious corner indoors. The combination of a gray carpet and white walls, along with the seemingly cluttered yet cozy computer desk and backpack behind me, really highlights that state of complete relaxation after finishing exams. This kind of background with environmental narrative feels a bit more authentic compared to pure studio shoots. Since I mainly wanted to record this cozy home routine while clearing out photos, there was no need to deliberately avoid elements like computer screens or headphones on the desk. When shooting in natural indoor light, the highlight areas of the white tights and white top easily overexpose, but fortunately, special attention was paid to the metering points during shooting so the pink-and-blue gradient wig colors could display as accurately as possible.

There's a very interesting angle in these photos where, sitting on a chair or the carpet, you can see the strong contrast between the white shoes/stockings and dark garments. One special thing to note is that the junction between the wig and headpiece needs to be pressed firmly, otherwise the thin wire easily loosens and rotates. Recording this process through the lens after exams has the biggest advantage of having ample time, so there's no need to rush photoshoots while lugging a heavy backpack. I could slowly adjust the folds of the white lantern sleeves and the tightness of the light blue necktie in front of the mirror, ensuring the texture quality remained top-notch.

No overly exaggerated filters were used in these pictures, preserving elegant white, pink, and blue tones. This low-saturation palette paired with the deep wine-red vest turned out unexpectedly durable to look at. As a collection of sharing photos focused on daily relaxation, I didn't intend to strike difficult poses; instead, sitting stretched out on the carpet, making casual gestures, or hugging plush toys better conveyed the relaxed mood of the day. When capturing half-body or full-body seated postures, the camera focal length was moderate enough to fit both the character and props into the frame without causing close-up distortion.

Finally, when packing away all the small pieces of this outfit, I felt that White stockings and black straps actually have great versatile potential, perhaps fitting well even when styled separately with everyday clothes. Of course, the moment I put on this outfit and held Little Ika, I still felt that taking this cosplay photo was the most fitting scenario for their combination. Happening to coincide with the Winter Solstice, while enjoying hot dumplings, sharing this long-prepared character interpretation serves as a great release from final exam review stress.
