When shooting this Luo Li cosplay, the initial priority was harmonizing makeup and wig styling. Because Luo Li's straight long black hair and blunt straight bangs really test one's face shape, I dedicated extra effort to contouring, making the eyes appear rounder and more spirited. Paired with soft pink blush and vivid orange lip color, this brought forth the lively, nimble aura unique to this Yeloli character.
To faithfully recreate the maidenly grace of the character setting, the intricate details of the crown were paramount. Decorated with purple-gold patterns, red gemstones, and prominent 3D floral embellishments, the crown had substantial weight, requiring sturdy clips to anchor it securely. The red heart necklace and the long draping pearl strand at the neck also needed careful placement in frame to avoid obscuring facial contours.
I experimented with two shooting approaches this time. The first three photos are close-ups captured inside a car, where the dark interior backdrop beautifully offset facial highlights, making the gaze appear cleaner and purer—especially with hand gestures lightly holding the pearl chain, which heightened interactive depth. The latter two shots shifted to Outdoor photography, where ambient diffused light proved wonderfully flattering to the sprawling pink-and-white tulle gown of this Pink-themed outfit. The dress features cascading ruffles and flared pink gloves crafted from structured fabric that holds 3D volume gracefully. Accentuated by a corset waistband and the heart-shaped gem on the bodice reflecting natural sunlight, this Princess style look appeared exceptionally regal in full-body compositions.
I have always felt that Luo Li in Yeloli is not merely delicately aristocratic in appearance, but deeply defined by her pure, innocent spirit. Recreating her this time felt, in many ways, like fulfilling a cherished dream from my own girlhood. Perfecting the styling demanded significant time simply arranging the gown's hemline; with so many layered folds of fabric, prolonged creasing would look unflattering. Fortunately, patient on-set adjustments yielded deeply satisfying results.
Speaking of makeup and hair, achieving that distinct doll-like aesthetic meant under-eye blush couldn't be applied too heavily to prevent any puffy appearance. The focal points of eye makeup were defining the aegyo-sal and lashes, which worked in tandem with the wig to achieve an exquisite finish. During Outdoor photography, the bright light can easily cause glare on pink fabrics, so generous amounts of setting spray were used. Because the outfit features abundant gold trim that gleams brightly in the sun, finding the optimal shooting angle meant continuously adjusting my marks to ensure background trees and railings didn't steal focus from the subject.
Transitioning from indoor close-ups to outdoor full-body shots revealed Luo Li's beauty from diverse perspectives. Indoor close-ups suited quiet, mysterious expressions, while outdoor full-body frames fully exhibited the layered sophistication of the costume design. Though balancing the crown and wearing such a heavy gown throughout the shoot was physically demanding, seeing these final images made every bit of effort worthwhile.
