[Tanga Ibuki cosplay] Sharing the Anime-style photo set Shoot of the Blue Archive Character

The theme of this shoot is Tanga Ibuki from Blue Archive. Getting straight into sharing this Anime-style photo set, some prior preparations were made for both costume and makeup. The wig features golden-yellow twintails paired with pointed-ear prosthetics, and the makeup mainly emphasized reddish-pink eyeshadow and eye color, striving to capture the character's facial expressions and demeanor as closely as possible.

The costume's color scheme is quite distinctive: a dark blue pinafore dress over a white shirt with a red bow tie, an outer coat featuring large red-and-black color blocking, and yellow boots on the feet. The yellow bow on the boots was a slight challenge, requiring symmetry to be carefully maintained. The black hat is adorned with small pink floral decorations; its stiff brim nicely shapes the head silhouette once worn. For props, I prepared a sketchbook and an angular red-and-white lance. This prop gun has a noticeable weight in hand; to convey the character's feel, considerable thought went into designing the poses and adjusting the hand grip strength.

The shooting location was chosen at an outdoor setting with glass framing and metal pillars. The gray concrete ground and metal pillars added a cool, hard industrial feel, creating an ideal contrast against the uniform and vibrant props. The sunlight was relatively strong on the day of the shoot, with glass reflections, faint English lettering in the background, and metal grates on the ground—all of which blended seamlessly into the frame without needing intentional avoidance. Regarding composition, a wide-angle lens was selected to elongate leg lines. Photo 2 is what I personally feel captures the character best: sitting beside the glass door, resting my chin on both hands with legs naturally stretched forward, focusing the visual center while holding the prop sketchbook to echo the character's design.

During post-processing, the primary goal was to restore the red, blue, and black palette of the outfit, ensuring the red saturation was not overly loud and retained a slight vintage feel. Highlights were slightly brightened to give the skin a more translucent appearance. Throughout the shoot, various other poses were attempted, such as kicking, resting my chin on hands, holding the gun horizontally, and crouching on the ground—each striving to portray the character's personality. Since I regularly study photography lighting and color tones, I also discussed with the photographer how to make expressions more natural, including the focal points of my gaze. Overall, it was a deeply dedicated shoot; next time, I will continue refining prop textures and makeup details to strive for even better photos.
