This shoot took place along a wooden waterside corridor where light and shadow were gentle and ripples danced across the water's surface, offering a far more realistic, lived-in feel than studio shoots. Without needing to strike overly dramatic poses, simply leaning against the wooden railing in a relaxed posture naturally conveyed Ruan Mei's languid yet lucid demeanor.

The details of this outfit are incredibly rich. Capturing the white petals and metal hairpins of the headpiece under light risked harsh glare, so the photographer deliberately avoided direct, intense sunlight. The black styled messy locks are actually quite tricky to manage; maintaining this slightly unkempt yet refined volume required a good amount of setting spray. My favorite part remains the cyan mandarin collar and ruby accent around the neck, whose color pops remarkably in this setting. Lip color featured a soft rose-bean paste shade, creating a harmonious cool-and-warm color contrast against the cyan-blue clothing.

The shimmering water reflections were truly exquisite, serving as a natural filter provided by nature. After shooting in studios so often, transitioning to outdoor real environments presents uncontrollable lighting, yet yields an authentic photo texture that studios can hardly replicate in Anime-style photography. As cosplayers, our role is to adapt to environmental shifts and leave our finest state captured at the exact instant the shutter clicks.
