This custom design cosplay makeup test for Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail focuses on extending the dreamy atmosphere of the original setting. The pink wig was trimmed in layers, intentionally keeping the fluffy bangs over the forehead and the framing hair strands on both sides, while blending in white hair extensions to form a natural gradient transition. This approach frames the facial contours beautifully and increases visual softness. To highlight the character's temperament, purple contact lenses were used for this makeup look, combined with blended pink-and-purple eyeshadow, glitter embellishments on the lower eyelids, and curled, upturned eyelashes to enhance the transparency and liveliness of the eyes. The pink blush on the chin and apples of the cheeks paired with a pearlescent lip gloss adds soft color to the face, giving the overall selfies a gentle and pure feel. The coordination between the forehead area and the hair accessories was also carefully considered.
The costume design features multi-layered lightweight tulle fabric, combined with three-dimensional pale pink and white roses, as well as unevenly draped pearl necklaces and sequin decorations on the chest. This choice of material not only recreates the dreamy characteristics but also provides excellent refraction under the lights. The 3D flowers and mesh geometric headpiece on the head add a specific touch of fantasy to the overall look. During the makeup test, the positions of the accessories were adjusted multiple times to ensure they won't shift during movement, so as to maintain a perfect visual effect on-site. As for the tulle layers and flower arrangement on the chest, as seen from the first two close-ups, by controlling the spacing between the hair strands and the chest ornaments, the neckline and the collarbone contours are beautifully displayed.
The white hair strands on the wig echo the colors of the pearls and white flowers on the costume perfectly. The overall color palette is kept in light tones to avoid large areas of dullness, maintaining the sacred and dreamy aura of a deity. Attempting this kind of custom design variant requires infusing personal understanding while preserving the soul of the original work. This makeup test was primarily to test the coordination of the wig and makeup, as well as the 3D tailoring of the outfit. In practice, the volume brought by the thickness of the wig is well within the acceptable design range.
Although the lighting conditions varied during the shoot, such as the difference between soft indoor lighting and car overhead lighting, the dreamy undertone was still expressed. The former highlighted the delicate and clear texture of the makeup, while the latter captured another side of the character's demeanor, including some subtle movement details. This custom design makeup test was mainly to check the overall completeness of the visual presentation, making full preparation for the upcoming on-site showcase. Considering the thickness of the wig and body proportions, I might slightly fine-tune the tightness of the necklace later based on actual comfort. I will bring this optimized look to the IJOY convention. At that time, everyone is welcome to come for photos and chats, discuss more performance details of this character in a real-world environment, and enjoy the fun of offline events together.
