[Vita cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Cosplay Fitting Log: Showcasing Asymmetric Design and Black-Gold Palette

The custom Vita cosplay costume I ordered over a year ago just arrived at my door, so I immediately tried it on and made adjustments to check the fit. The texture of the fabric is better than expected; the embroidered details in the black-and-gold color scheme are solid, and the cut fits my body curves nicely. The most apparent feeling after putting it on is that this outfit demands high body proportions, especially with the asymmetrical design featuring a short skirt on the left and a long hem on the right. When wearing it, I need to adjust the waist drawstrings and leg ring to the optimal positions to make sure everything stays in place during movement.

The sheer design on the chest requires a matching skin-tone inner base layer, and the positioning of the gem badge is very precise. The whole look is quite grand yet carries a touch of experimental flair. Given the character's unique anime cosplay setting involving piloting mechas, I was racking my brain thinking about what poses could convey that crisp, dashing vibe after actually putting it on; movements feel somewhat restricted, making it tricky to find the center of gravity.

The heels are higher than what I usually wear, and the strap design across the instep makes the legs look longer, perfectly bringing out the overall effect with the white leg ring and stockings. However, once it's on, walking has to be slow, otherwise it's easy to step on the right leg's long train. This cosplay fitting stage is primarily to determine what needs adjusting—such as the drape of the skirt, and the transition between the calf leg-warmers and the shoes. These details only reveal their true effect after putting on the high heels.

Standing in profile highlights the curves and sheer aspects of the outfit best, and the resulting photos better display the layered side profile, which is why I chose this one as the cover photo. Styling this outfit tests posture and camera angles, making camera awareness essential. For instance, fixing the leg ring's position and adjusting the slit of the skirt change the perceived width at different angles. This fitting is also a process of familiarizing myself with the garment structure. Even though I was mentally prepared, seeing my slightly stiff posture in the mirror means I still need some time to get used to it.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the current proportions. The next focus is practicing how to match the mecha vibe, and I'm still working on specific poses and expressions, hoping to better bring out the costume's characteristics during the official photoshoot.
