When taking these photos, the sunlight happened to spill through the window right onto the sofa. It was so warm, so I naturally leaned into that lazy vibe. This time, I took on the challenge of cosplaying Takanashi Hoshino. Although she is a very capable senior, she always has a relaxed and laid-back attitude in everyday life—that contrast is just so charming.
So, I specifically found a cozy home setting, paired with short pink hair, cute cat ear hair accessories, and her signature giant plush cat paw gloves. While shooting, I kept thinking it would be awesome if I could capture that casual, cat-like feel. Since I personally love soft and cute outfits, I chose a loose white hoodie. Wearing it off-the-shoulder creates a more relaxed, natural look visually, and with the added detail of a bell collar, the overall cozy home vibe became even stronger.
For the makeup, I specially highlighted the eyes. The blue and yellow heterochromia contacts were the finishing touch, which, combined with soft pink blush, made me look full of energy and cuteness. However, the facial expression still needed to maintain that subtle, effortless, and somewhat lazy look. As for props, that giant plush cat paw was so fun to play with! I used it to block the camera as if I were waving hello.
After finishing this photo set, I really fell in love with it myself. Compared to glamorous studio shoots, this casual, everyday cosplay style feels so much more authentic and intimate. Of course, I did my best to stay faithful to the character's spirit through the outfit and makeup, recreating her signature vibe of someone who loves slacking off but remains immensely reliable.
Shooting under natural home lighting actually tests environmental light usage quite a bit, but the natural light coming through the window served as the best filter. The skin tones and hair colors turned out looking extremely soft and clean. All in all, it was a super enjoyable shooting experience, and I'm happy to share these cozy, lazy, and adorable everyday moments of Takanashi Hoshino with everyone!
