[Cyrene Cosplay] Dreamy Light and Shadow of Omphalos in Honkai: Star Rail

Ripples of the past set the core tone for this photoshoot. To convey the dreamy, ethereal atmosphere of Omphalos in Honkai: Star Rail, an outdoor garden was chosen for a real-location shoot.

For this look, the most critical part was the overall color coordination. Managing long pink hair required meticulous care; hair strands had to remain fluffy with natural drape, ensuring no cap edges showed near the scalp. The placement of white foliage and pale blue flower accessories at the crown and temples underwent multiple adjustments. To complement pointed ears for this Elf cosplay, the wig's bangs were trimmed with special care—just enough to expose the ear contours without blocking light on the side of the face.

In terms of costume construction, this outfit extensively combined structured satin with ultra-sheer gauze panels. The neck choker and floral inlay ornaments at the chest heavily tested handcrafting skills. To maintain optimal condition during the shoot and prevent hard accessories from unevenly reflecting sunlight, additional anti-slip treatment was applied inside the neckline.

The petal-like or wing-like panels extending outward from the shoulders are a defining feature of this look, elegantly framing shoulder width and refining the upper silhouette. The white main body blends seamlessly with pale purple and light blue accent trims. Paired with cool-toned white garments, I intentionally opted for a matte base makeup so the face wouldn't clash with the pearl shimmer and sequins on the outfit.

The choice of stockings was settled right from the start—a light nude base featuring white vine patterns stretching from thigh to calf. Paired with silver high heels, it visually elongated leg proportions. This delicate sheer material avoided harsh glares under outdoor natural light, instead allowing skin undertones to show through naturally.

We selected two main settings for this shoot. The first two photos were taken beside a flowerbed filled with pink, purple, and yellow blossoms. The photographer used foreground flowers for a soft-focus bokeh effect that echoed the subject placed in the center, utilizing soft diffuse light to highlight fabric textures. Under this lighting, the Dreamy white veil fabric displayed a crystal-clear visual quality.

The third photo was taken during golden hour at sunset. The wooden wall behind formed rich background layers alongside the lush flower wall. When golden rim backlight struck hair strands, garment edges, and the semi-transparent gauze skirt, the entire look was wrapped in a warm halo. With the skirt spread across wooden planks, the layers of gauze were contoured beautifully by the light, where silver high heels served as a textured anchor due to metallic reflections.

Poses during the shoot needed to maintain relaxation without looking stiff. Whether the natural crossing of wrists while seated or legs gently curled within the long gauze skirt, every pose aimed to portray a fluid, weightless state like gentle ripples, rather than forced rigid stills.

Transporting the voluminous skirt and rigid decorations to an outdoor venue and smoothing them out piece by piece is always a process demanding patience. Yet, when the breeze brushes hair tips and sunset rays filter through leaves onto the skirt, seeing the gentleness and fluidity captured in the photos makes every preparation deeply meaningful.
