The concept for this shoot actually revolves around that classic soul-searching question, cutting straight to the point. After finalizing this "Cifera" styling, I thought about how to blend the character's personality traits with an element of fun, so the prop team specially prepared a highly reflective Golden Apple item. The texture of this golden apple under the studio's light refraction is absolutely incredible. Paired with that close-up shot in the photo where I'm leaning over the edge of the table showing half my face, the sense of interaction is dialed up to the max.
Let's talk about the details of this costume. The main body of the upper piece is made of a glossy black leather material with a touch of matte luster, making it highly sensitive to light. To give the silhouette a more three-dimensional feel, I put a lot of heart into the wig. That short, silver-white wig with straight bangs required repeated trimming of its layered edges to ensure that the hair strands wouldn't look messy after putting on the cat ear hooded cloak. The golden forehead accessory at the top of the cat ear hood is highly eye-catching; the design of a ring embedded with an eye totem has strong recognizability, and together with the brim featuring gold and blue stripes on the outer side, the overall visual center of gravity is exceptionally stable.
There are also the black collar and dark pendant on the neck, along with the blue-and-gold color-blocked arc design on the shoulder armor. These detailed embellishments on the black leather jacket push the character's overall temperament further toward cool-edged sharpness. During this shoot, we also experimented with different physical languages, such as sitting on a white square box holding a black tail-like prop in one hand in Figure 3, and spreading both arms wide while standing on a circular pedestal in Figure 4. These two postures beautifully balance the character's playfulness with the crisp, efficient traits of combat personnel.
The coordination of the lower half also took a lot of energy. The glossy golden armor on the legs features geometric textures; though it looks heavily metallic, we actually utilized a much lighter customized material to facilitate movement. Paired with golden chunky-heeled short boots, it effectively elongates the leg proportions. The black leather buckle straps at the thighs not only add detail but also make the transition between black, white, and gold look more natural. The overall ambient light of the white studio combined with a light blue gradient background frames the black-and-gold color palette of this costume very cleanly.
I remember when shooting the close-up sequence, the photographer repeatedly adjusted the camera position, wanting to capture that contrast where the Golden Apple item rests in the foreground while the visual focus locks onto the model's eyes. The straight bangs of the wig happened to cover the eyebrows, revealing only the bright blue colored contact lenses. This kind of captivating gaze requires controlling the blinking frequency carefully, and we took dozens of shots before selecting the one that best matches a feline's sharp agility, pride, and touch of playfulness. Overall, this studio session beautifully recreated many details related to the character, and I hope everyone can feel the dynamic energy hidden beneath the cute appearance of this cat ear style look through this piece of cosplay photography.
