The planning for this Evanescia shoot was in the works for quite a while; from scouting the location to confirming wardrobe nuances, every step aimed to recreate the character's signature presence. The wig selected was a lush, long straight pink style, topped with Bunny ears that served as the true soul of the look—intertwining pink and white with inner linings bearing red and gold patterns, which I couldn't resist pinching throughout the shoot. The white outer coat was tailored with crisp structure and voluminous wide sleeves lined in red, with golden flowing clouds and cherry blossom damask patterns running along the hems. The red bow at the collar was made from a matte satin fabric, while the black-and-gold accessories across the chest added a structured, edgy feel. The dark blue pleated skirt for the lower half featured a subtle luster that gave rich dimensional depth with every step, anchored by a black leather belt with a circular gold buckle and a dangling pink bunny charm that tied the fox and rabbit motifs together. To complete the styling, I wore Black stockings pantyhose to flatter the leg lines while visually stabilizing the lower body.
The location was set in a Japanese-style interior featuring tatami flooring, wooden sliding shoji screens, and folding screens painted with flying birds and cherry blossoms. The set was filled with blooming pink sakura branches paired with white paper wagasa umbrellas, crafting an evocative spring Japanese-style photoshoot ambiance. During the session, the photographer had me explore several distinct states. The first set of poses involved sitting cross-legged on a cushion with a translucent pink cup in hand, flanked by a low wooden tea table and tea set, where the wide sleeves draped naturally to highlight the garment's cut. Later, we switched to a kneeling stance, gripping the long katana prop with both hands; the blade was quite long and carried notable weight, testing core endurance and knees, but keeping my spine tall brought out that sharp, heroic edge.
The most relaxing sequence was lying prone on the mat with legs kicked up behind me, holding a milk tea cup while a tray of colorful ramune sodas and dark bottles sat beside me. While appearing effortless, keeping upper body posture aligned with focused gaze meant subtle muscle engagement throughout; the photographer's timely captures seized that playful yet languid mood. Finally, we shot an interactive cut seated at the wooden edge pulling gently on the rabbit ears—hooking a fingertip around the bunny ear brought out an effortless, adorable cuteness.
Because this shoot involved a long blade and numerous seated and prone postures with tight transitions between poses, we constantly smoothed the skirt and Black stockings to keep them neat. For color grading, we preserved the natural daylight as much as possible, allowing the warm amber glow of the tatami to form a soft, layered contrast with the sakura pink. Though the prop drinks were slightly anachronistic, sipping them during breaks certainly relieved plenty of fatigue. From initial fittings to the final click of the shutter, every detail aimed to bring fellow fans something visually refreshing, and both the photographer and I are thrilled with the finished results.
