[Yuna cosplay] Sword Art Online Floating City Tea Party: On-Site Experience Log of the Day

Working all day as Yuna at the Floating City Tea Party, I am taking some free time now to record the details of this event.

In terms of hair and makeup, the wig is reddish-brown long hair, which took quite some time to style because the strands easily tangled together, especially at the ends. I pre-styled it a day in advance and used setting spray the next morning to keep the curls intact. For makeup, I emphasized reddish eyeshadow around the eyes and matching lip color; to enhance the character's realism, I deliberately kept the base makeup lightweight with minimal concealer. The outfit was a red-and-white dress paired with a pair of black over-the-knee socks for the Black over-the-knee socks cosplay. These socks have wide black garter bands and a relatively thick fabric; standing lakeside outdoors all day felt a bit stuffy, but wearing them was essential for character accuracy. The skirt has great layering and sways naturally with leg movements when walking, making poses in the beach area look very dynamic.

The event was held at Wuxi Mint Space's camping zone, divided into indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor area featured a beach and a water platform where I participated in afternoon activities like beach volleyball, darts, and ring toss games. During beach activities, sand easily got into my shoes, requiring continuous cleaning. Since the socks are solid black, sand stuck to them noticeably, so after each round of games, I used wet wipes I carried around to wipe down my legs and shoes. The indoor area was a wooden hall used for tea breaks and stage interactions. The host on stage was very professional, leading discussions on many lore details and keeping the atmosphere exceptionally lively.

During the afternoon free-roam time, many fellow fans came over for commemorative joint photos. As a cosplayer, I adjusted various angles while posing—tucking my chin, turning sideways, angling my legs—to showcase flattering proportions. Due to the dense crowd, my makeup got a bit oily, so I touched up with setting powder twice. Holding out until around 5 PM, my legs and knees felt somewhat sore, but thanks to the setting spray, the overall makeup held up remarkably well. While packing props in the evening, the edges of the socks got slightly frayed by the sand, which felt like a little keepsake from the event. Overall, this Anime tea party held in an outdoor park offered far more interactive elements than conventional indoor conventions; although physically demanding, the experience was fantastic. Portraying Yuna and completing a full day's work in such an atmosphere was deeply rewarding with smooth scheduling, marking a wonderful conclusion to this Wuxi offline photoshoot event.
