This time, I'm bringing you Asuna from Sword Art Online.

Let me share some thoughts on shooting this Uniform look. The dark blue double-breasted coat paired with a red bow tie and white collar creates a very clean overall palette. For the wig, I chose a vibrant long orange shade; while the color is very eye-catching, keeping the strands smooth under the messy lighting of an Anime convention took quite a bit of effort, subduing some glare spots to give the hair more texture.

White stockings and high heels are a crucial part of character accuracy. Platform shoes provide great height proportions and are extremely effective in elongating leg lines. Performing single-leg standing and pointing poses in these shoes requires careful balance—even a slight wobble in center of gravity can make the pose look awkward.

The environment inside an Anime convention venue is actually quite challenging for shooting, with chaotic lighting and complex backdrops. The photographer used a large-aperture telephoto lens, and in post-processing, deliberately desaturated the background to black-and-white while retaining color only on the character, preventing the background from overpowering the subject and keeping the visual focus squarely on the figure.

These three photos capture three distinct moods: the first features a playful leg pose with a slight body tilt; the second is a single-leg stance pointing at the camera, full of dynamism and interactivity; and the third shows a confident pose with crossed arms.

I also experimented with different emotional expressions in capturing facial nuances and gaze. While the character inherently has a determined personality, I wanted to showcase her more relaxed and confident side.

Although high-intensity Anime convention shoots are tiring, getting such clean photos with great lighting feedback naturally lifts my spirits.
