These convention photos shot on-site at Firefly ACG Expo, combined with the classic \"Link Start\" theme, nicely record our state of synchronization during the duo shoot. On the day of the shoot, the lighting inside the venue was quite complex, so we found a relatively clean background under high grayish-white ceilings to compose our shots. There are two photos in this set; Photo 1 features a more restrained ready stance paired with a dagger prop, clearly displaying the red-and-white color-blocked lines of Asuna's outfit along with the details of Kirito's black trench coat and collar metalwork. Photo 2 switches to that teal polearm, opening up the arm span to look more offensive, while tall pillars and overhead lights behind us happen to form a natural framing.

Returning to costume accuracy: for Asuna's combat outfit, the white section utilizes a relatively rigid fabric; otherwise, the waist straps wouldn't cinch tight, making the overall silhouette look bulky. The red pleats on the skirt were custom-dyed during production to be slightly more muted than bright red, ensuring it doesn't look cheap in front of the lens. The red-and-gold arm sleeves and white long gloves were worn on-site for almost a full day—honestly squeezing the arms quite tightly, but we endured to maintain the costume's three-dimensional silhouette. The wig was styled a week in advance; since golden strands easily get frizzy, I specifically smoothed the side braids with hair wax before leaving to ensure the bangs fell naturally between my eyes. For Kirito, the black trench coat uses a matte fabric—though stuffy to wear, reflections were easy to manage in bright convention lighting. The geometric silver buckles at the collar and shoulder splicing utilized stiff leather to keep the collar erect. The attached black bracers on his wrists and the weight of the prop sword in hand demanded genuine force in his arms during the shoot—it couldn't look like holding a plastic stick, but rather transmitting that strength through tight knuckles.

Getting clean convention photos at an anime expo is actually quite difficult due to the massive foot traffic at Firefly ACG Expo with passersby everywhere. Our positioning was actually near the side of an aisle; the photographer shot at a low angle almost glued to the floor, which successfully avoided crowds and concentrated visual focus on the upper half of the frame. The low-angle perspective combined with overhead lighting slightly elongated limbs visually, making poses look more dynamic. In post-processing, the main task was unifying color temperature and suppressing chaotic ambient background light to highlight character silhouettes. The highlights on the white clothing easily clipped, requiring manual highlight suppression to retrieve fine details.

For pose design, we preferred adhering to original combat habits. In Photo 1, I raised both hands to chest height with a lowered center of gravity—a common starting stance in the original series that creates a grounded defensive posture. Switching to the polearm changed the holding angle for both hands; due to shifted gravity, shoulders had to stretch back slightly to display the trajectory of sword swings. These body language nuances are actually trickier than simply striking a pretty pose, requiring body tension without appearing artificially strained.

Doing cosplay to recreate a favorite character relies not only on costume polish, but even more on conveying character demeanor through photographs. Reviewing after every set, I always spot where lighting or posing could improve—a process of continuous self-iteration. Although exhausting on site, securing photos with complete compositions made me truly happy, and I hope this passion for our work shines through the photos.
