When shooting this Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya set, the main focus was capturing the lively and playful side of the character.

The outfit's color scheme is primarily pink and white, with the large orange bow serving as a vibrant visual highlight. The tulle skirt is richly layered, and thankfully the fabric is breathable, so wearing it all day in a stuffy convention environment wasn't overly uncomfortable. The red contact lenses are very vivid, which immediately brought out a sharp color contrast against the long straight blonde hair. The ends of the wig were layered and thinned out so that they draped naturally during motion rather than looking stiff. The magic staff prop is made of solid wood, carrying a satisfying weight in hand—a higher quality prop makes the final shots feel much more authentic.

The shoot took place at an indoor anime convention where backgrounds were quite cluttered, so we used a wide aperture to blur the surroundings and relied on telephoto focal lengths for bust and full-body shots. Before starting, I communicated the desired style with the photographer, emphasizing the need to convey the character's energetic spirit. The first few photos were half-body shots focused on facial expressions and upper-body movement. Staying relaxed, making direct eye contact with the camera with a slight head tilt, and holding a gentle smile made it easy to capture natural, candid moments.

Afterward, we moved on to full-body shots. The photo with one leg raised was the most technically demanding shot of the entire set. To elongate the leg lines, the photographer lowered the camera angle to shoot slightly upward. Wearing pink over-the-knee stockings, using that dynamic one-leg-up pose not only showcased the leg silhouette but also allowed the skirt to flare out organically with the motion. I had to hold the magic staff steadily while keeping my upper body upright so the posture remained lively rather than rigid, staying true to the character's spirited persona. Capturing the moment of casting magic with the staff raised—coordinated with a head turn and a playful wink—brought an incredible amount of vitality to the frame.

During post-processing, authentic skin texture was preserved. We only subtly adjusted the ambient light to make the pink tones softer without over-smoothing the skin, ensuring a natural look. Eye catchlights were carefully kept intact to make the eyes look bright and spirited.

Throughout the shoot, finding optimal angles with the photographer and repeatedly twirling around was constant; it was tiring, but completely worth it. The skirt for this look is voluminous, so a petticoat was worn underneath to maintain layered fullness. Wearing the white gloves also required care to smooth them out neatly so the fingers wouldn't look bulky. The entire process took place in a relaxed and fun atmosphere—a wonderful experience that delivered a satisfying result for both myself and my audience.
