Happy Birthday, Emilia! For this second shoot, we selected the Greek style cosplay version designed by Potato-sensei. The costume references classical elements from Greek mythology, preserving Emilia's signature color palette while incorporating flowing gradient sheer chiffon and gilded ornaments. Whenever receiving a new costume, I always study its cut and textiles in the fitting room first. This fabric was lightweight and semi-sheer, extremely sensitive to specular light, requiring meticulous attention to studio lighting to avoid washing out the delicate layered tiers of the dress.
In terms of hairstyle, Emilia's long, straight silver hair and blunt bangs are the soul of the look, carrying substantial physical weight once trimmed neatly. The Elf ears were custom-sculpted by the prop artist to contour smoothly against my facial silhouette without uncomfortable pressure, helping me execute turning and profile expressions much more naturally. To channel the character's ethereal coolness, the makeup accentuated reddish blending around the eye contours paired with vivid blue contact lenses, lending depth to the gaze. Across the ensemble, the blue teardrop jewels, golden corset belt, and thigh band served as finishing touches; set against the pure white gown, these metallic and gem-like textures naturally drew the viewer's eye while anchoring compositional balance.
The shoot took place in a studio using a pure sky-blue seamless gradient paper backdrop to evoke weightlessness above the clouds, with several white geometric plinths prepared for sitting, leaning, and reclining. The first sequence explored standing poses, spreading the wide sleeves so the gradient blue chiffon unfolded like wings—a dynamic composition that highlighted the garment's fluid kinetic design, with backlight filtering through the sheer fabric to give the frame breathability. The second sequence shifted to seated postures, spotlighting the golden thigh band and leg lines; being barefoot enhanced the organic feel, harmonizing with the draped folds for an effortless aesthetic. Lastly, reclining sideways across the white blocks with an extended arm tested core stability to balance while fanning the sweeping train and gradient sleeves gracefully across the frame, keeping the spine straight without tensing facial muscles, which took several angle calibrations to secure the perfect composition.
For facial expressions, Emilia embodies gentle inner strength, so I leaned into her serene composure rather than forcing exaggerated expressions. Sincere thanks to the photographer's guidance, which helped me settle into character quickly to capture Emilia's blend of tenderness and subtle, aloof divinity. As the new year begins, I hope this Greek style photoshoot offers a refreshing visual experience and look forward to creating more captivating scenes for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. I will continue collaborating with Potato-sensei to bring more imaginative outfits to life, exploring diverse lighting styles in shoots to come.
